taylor expansions with real vectors
Dear list,
I have a big deal concerning the development of a Taylor expansion.
require(Matrix)
e1 <- as.vector(1:5)
e2 <- as.vector(6:10)
in order to obtain all the combinations between these two vectors following
a Taylor expansion (or more simply through a Maclaurin series) for real
numbers.
We have f(x) = f(0) + f'(0)(x-0) + f''(0)(x-0)^2/2! + ? + f^(k)(0)(x-0)^k/k!

can a key of a list be a variable
Hi,
I search a solution to record data in dynamic structures in R.
I have an algorithm that will be executed each step and whose output is an
array of doubles with unknown size.
The solution I found is to use lists
1) I initialise my list
l <- list()
2) and at a step numbered i I conacatain the new tab to the list
vect <- algorithm()
l <<--c( l , list(stepi=vect))
The problem is

Speeding up a loop
General problem: I have 20 projects that can be invested in and I need to
decide which combinations meet a certain set of standards. The total
possible combinations comes out to 2^20. However I know for a fact that the
number of projects must be greater than 5 and less than 13. So far the the
code below is the best I can come up with for iteratively creating a set to

dovecot under attack
Hi,
I?ve posted this before but no one was able to help. I can?t figure out
what they are trying to do, and if I should be concerned.
I am running dovecot version 0.99.14 on Fedora Core 4. It appears that my
dovecot server is under attack. This morning in my system e-mail I saw

Rgui.exe fix for "console not found" buffer overflow problem
I'm using R on Windows XP Professional SP2.
I figured out the fix for my buffer overflow problem that did not allow me
to use Rgui.exe for about two weeks. I would keep getting "console not
found" and even when I uninstalled and re-installed got the same problem.
Here's how the problem started. In Rgui.exe, I attempted to get more
visible output in the buffer (I wanted

Hi there,
I know this is the classic RTFM list question but... I've really tried
hard on this and no result!
This is what I'm receving from logcheck:

Running an rsync server over a remote shell program
Hi,
I'm having problems with the command= syntax in the authorized_keys
file. I'm running rsync 2.5.6. I've searched the list archives for
"authorized_keys" and "protocol version mismatch", but I can't seem
to derive a solution from those threads.
Simply put, my goal is to let a group of 15 to 20 users update a set
of files in a single user account on a

upgrade to 3.0.22, problem authenticating to AD
We upgraded our Centos 4.3 box's samba from 3.0.10 to 3.0.22 using sernet.de rpms. Prior to upgrading, we had this box authenticating to AD just fine, but now it is broken. Here is part of my log file that might show what is going on.

What are they trying to do here?
Hi!
I?m new to the list, and I?m not really having a ?problem?, but I?m seeing
something in my log files that I wonder if I should be concerned.
I?ve been using Dovecot (dovecot-0.99.14-8.fc4) on my Fedora Core 4 (kernel
2.6.17-1.2142_FC4) machine from quite some time.
For the last few days, I?ve been seeing this in my daily ?Logwatch? e-mail:
