Hi Nico and other ssh users,
Systemd restarts the ssh if it terminates. AFAIK this is all that is needed.
But maybe I am missing something. Is there a feature of autossh that I don't
get with systemd?

Bug#309772: please add ignore lines for autossh
Package: logcheck-database
Severity: wishlist
Hi!
if autossh debug is enabled it logs to syslog, thus the messages go thru
logcheck, messages are in this form
May 19 14:02:55 sagara autossh[1909]: port set to 0, monitoring disabled
so this is the ignore line
^\w{3} [ :0-9]{11} [._[:alnum:]-]+ autossh\[[0-9]+\]: .*$

Persistent SSH sessions
Hi all
I have an ADSL modem which reboots when there is a power cut and the
inverter (UPS) kicks in. Internet access is down for a duration of 1
to 2 minutes while the modem boots.
I have many SSH tunnels and shells active. Due to the default
"TCPKeepAlive On" setting, these sessions are terminated almost
immediately.
I tried the following configuration:
sshd_config on server:

Restructure puppet modules
So far we have a similar situation, for each different server one fabric
and one puppet file, where the fabric file simply applies it in a brutal
way.
with settings(user=''root''):
put(''qa.pp'', ''qa.pp'')
put(''puppet apply qa.pp'')
And puppet files don''t use anything like classes or modules, but

OpenSSH with "resumable" functionality
I just stumbled across this thread on openssh-dev...
Is there anywhere to track progress on this issue? It'd be a fantastic
feature that would fix all sorts of problems I deal with regularly.
You may also be interested in an article "Design and Implementation of a
Mobile SSH Protocol", if you haven't seen it, since that team implemented
(afaict) the same feature, whether or not

lvm errors after replacing drive in raid 10 array
I thought I'd test replacing a failed drive in a 4 drive raid 10 array on
a CentOS 5.2 box before it goes online and before a drive really fails.
I 'mdadm failed, removed', powered off, replaced drive, partitioned with
sfdisk -d /dev/sda | sfdisk /dev/sdb, and finally 'mdadm add'ed'.
Everything seems fine until I try to create a snapshot lv. (Creating a

trying to debug ssh-askpass problem
Hi all,
I have a script which calls ssh-add at a certain point, and I'm
getting the following error:
ssh_askpass: exec(/usr/bin/ssh-askpass): No such file or directory
I don't see why it's doing this, since SSH_ASKPASS isn't set, and
there should be a working terminal:
SSH_ASKPASS
If ssh needs a passphrase, it will read the passphrase from the

Question on SSH_ASKPASS
Hi everybody,
I have asked a question a long time ago regarding SSH_ASKPASS, but with the
latest version of OpenSSH I am not able to get the desired result.
My goal is to launch a script on a remote server via SSH without having to
type a password, because it is locally executed from a script. This should
not be too complicated, but somehow I am not able to figure this out myself.
I have

SSH_ASKPASS behavior change proposal
Hello, OpenSSH Developers!
I'm not a member of the OpenSSH development team or a member of this
mailing list. I have a small change to propose for OpenSSH and since
the mailing list page at openssh.com indicated the general discussion
list is for support, I thought this list would be a better place to
discuss this. Please forgive me if I've committed a faux pas.
I propose that the

Password from open filedescriptor
The included patch adds a new option to the ssh client:
-d fd Read the password from file descriptor fd. If you use 0 for fd,
the passphrase will be read from stdin.
This is basically the same as GPG:s parameter --passphrase-fd.
Flames about why this is a bad idea goes into /dev/null. I really need to
do this. There are lots of ugly Expect-hacks out there, but I want a more

How to maintain a persistent SSH connection?
Hello,
I'm tasked with establishing a persistent SSH connection across
a very unreliable link, for a remote port forward (always port
2217). I figured I'd use ServerAliveInterval to make sure that the
ssh(1) process dies when the connection appears down, and I use
systemd to restart it in this case. This works fine.
What does not work fine, however, is the server-side. If the

Restarting Asterisk using a script - Thanks to all -
Hi All,
I do have asterisk installed for a call center and I would like to know if
it is possible to create a scipt and execute it from a PC connected to the
Network without accessing the server. This script should restart asterisk
and another service related to aheeva.
The problem now is that each time I have to access using PUTY to the server
to start and run services manually.
