gbm error
Good afternoon Has anyone tried using Dr. Elith's BRT script? I cannot seem to run gbm.step from the installed gbm package. Is it something external to gbm? When I run the script itself <- gbm.step(data=model.data, gbm.x = colx:coly, gbm.y = colz, family = "bernoulli", tree.complexity = 5, learning.rate = 0.01, bag.fraction = 0.5) ... I

[LLVMdev] Related constant folding of floating point values
Hi all, I have the following test case: #define FLT_EPSILON 1.19209290E-7 int err = -1; int main() { float a = 8.1; if (((a - 8.1) >= FLT_EPSILON) || ((a - 8.1) <= -FLT_EPSILON)) { //I am using FLT_EPSILON to check whether (a != 2.0). err = 1; } else { err = 0; } return 0; } with -O3 optimization level clang generates already incorrect LLVM IR: ; Function Attrs:

some error messages using arm cpu with Debian
I have a small handheld pc having ARM process as a CPU. I installed debian and installed R using apt-get command. Everything worked great except for drawing even simple graphs x <- 1:10 plot(x) I got error messages 1: Nonfinite axis limits [GScale(nan,nan,1, .); log=0] 2: relative range of values = 9.0072e+15 * EPS, is small (axis 1). 3: Nonfinite axis limits

error message using ARM cpu with Debian
I post this message on R-help mailing list but someone emailed me that I can get helped if I post this one on R-devel mailing list. I have a small handheld pc having ARM process as a CPU. I installed debian and installed R (R-1.7.0 base and core, help html, latex-help) using apt-get command. Everything worked great except for drawing even simple graphs x <- 1:10 plot(x) I got error

memory management uestion
Hi All, I would like to ask the following. I have an array of data in an objetct, let's say X. I need to use a for loop on the elements of one or more columns of X and I am having a debate with a colleague about the best memory management. I believe that if I do: col1 = X[,1] col2 = X[,2] ... colx = X[,x] and then for(i in whatever){ do something using col1[i], col2[i] ... colx[i] }

R 1.3.1 fails 'make check' on arm in the Bessel example (PR#1097)
Debian tries to build its packages on a variety of platforms. The arm platform compiled 0.90.1 (the last Debian release before the Debian package required an Atlas library, something we no longer require) failed in 'make check'. The log snippet follows; I traced this to the example(Bessel) code. > matplot(nu, t(outer(xx,nu, besselI)), type = 'l', ylim = c(-50,200), +

hist(..., log="y")
hist() is designed so that the total area sums to 1. You should build you desired behavior using a barchart. ? Compiling on SGI Irix 5.3
Hello, I successfully compiled 0.61.3 on SGI Irix 5.3 (CC). But there is a syntax bug in src/graphics/graphics.c. I append a diff. Please, have a look wether the fix is correct! (I'm not shure :-) Thanks for the SHELL variable in the Makefile's. Please, don't forget about the problem with externally installed regular expression libraries (e.g. librx). Perhaps you can improve the

[LLVMdev] DWARF unmangled subprog name (DW_AT_name)
Hi, I am looking for a way to get unmangled subprogram names from a DWARFContext. The name I want is available in the attribute `DW_AT_name` [1], but as far as I can tell this is only returned as a fallback in `DWARFDebugInfoEntryMinimal::getSubroutineName` when the linkage name is not available [2]. If this is not currently possible, is there any interest in adding such access to the public

intercalar elementos de vectores
Gracias, Carlos. Habia pensado en algo similar usando sapply(): sapply(seq(1, ncol(vtmp), by = 2), function(i) c(rbind(as.character(vtmp[, i]), as.character(vtmp[, i+1])))) Dependiendo de la dimension de los datos, quizas mapply() sea mas eficiente que sapply(). Possible error in ?axTicks
Hi all, Before posting to r-bugs, I thought that I would just verify this one first. It looks like the help for axTicks() needs to be corrected. It presently says: 'axTicks()' can be regarded as an R implementation of the C function 'CreateAtVector()' in '..../src/main/graphics.c' which is called by 'axis(side,*)' when no argument 'at' is specified.

Adding axis limit to log-log plot
Dear All, I've tried to add axis limit ( e.g. ylim=c(0,50)) to the log-log plot, but it turn out to be error (see below). beanplot without log scale?
Is it possible to force beanplot not to use a log scale? I want to be able to create multiple beanplots of different data on the same specified y-axis. problems with plot()
I have a list of vectors of length 2, each representing a point in 2-space, and each of which I wish to plot on the current plot. In a loop, I assign the x and y coordinates of the current element of the list to variables 'x' and 'y' respectively, then make a call to plot as follows: par(new = TRUE) plot(x,y, xlim = c(0,1),ylim=c(0,1), xlab <- "x", ylab <-

[LLVMdev] DWARF unmangled subprog name (DW_AT_name)
The use case is getting the short name for backtraces. There are other options, but I figured it was worth a shot trying to access from the DWARF structure because what we need is already stored there anyway.
