[PATCH] devinit: lock/unlock crtc regs for all devices, not just pre-nv50
Also make nv_lockvgac work for nv50+ devices. This should fix IO_CONDITION and
related VBIOS opcodes that read/write the crtc regs.

[PATCH] devinit: lock/unlock crtc regs for all devices, not just pre-nv50
No problem. I applied the patch (plus the other for the MXM issue),
replaced the preexisting nouveau.ko.gz in /lib/mod/? with the new
gzipped one, and rebuilt the initramfs. (With an updated DRIVER_DATE
define just to be sure.)
The HDMI output works fine.
Attached are the dmesg outputs before and after, grepped for
'nouveau'. As you can see, there's no real change.

problems with postscript device
Hi!
The postscript device in 0.90 does not produce symbols (pch=) as it
should. E.g.:
postscript(file="test.ps",width=8,height=6.4,horizontal=FALSE)
plot(1:10,1:10,pch=1:5)
legend(1,9,letters[1:5],pch=1:5)
dev.off()
The result looks quite different compared to the X-windows version.
The symbol 1 (pch=1) is much to small, while the other symbols
seem to big.
Is it a bug? How can I

[PATCH] devinit/gf100-: detect if BIOS invoked devinit
It is not advisable to perform devinit if it has already been done.
VBIOS will very likely have invoked devinit if the GPU is the primary
graphics device, but there is no accurate way to detect this fact yet.
This patch adds such a method for gf100 and later chips, by means of the
NV_PTOP_SCRATCH1_DEVINIT_COMPLETED bit. This bit is set to 1 by devinit,
and reset to 0 when the GPU is powered.

graphics device problems
I'm using R 1.8.0 under windows XP. I can't get certain of the graphics devices set up. For example, when I copy this line directly from the "postscript" help screen, I get the error messages that follow it:
> postscript("foo.ps")
Error in PS(file, old$paper, old$family, old$encoding, old$bg, old$fg, :

Default value for title in postscript function
I like the fact that the postscript function enables the possbiility
of a more useful title than before. However, I'd prefer the default
to be the file name.
It's very simple for me to make my own postscript function that does
just that simply by setting title = file. I always use onefile =
TRUE, so it always works (so far). However, I'm a little reluctant to
do that in case some

grid graphics gpar(fill) argument and jpeg device
Hi everybody,
I just notice a strange behaviour of gpar's fill argument when using
non-postscript devices:
The default of the argument is transparent (according to get.gpar("fill")).
So as expected, the following code draws a nice red rectangle in the
middle of my X11 or postscript device.
pushViewport(viewport(width=0.5, height=0.5))
grid.rect(gp=gpar(fill="red"))

How to infer default width and height for a device?
Hi.
GENERAL:
Is there a general method for inferring default device settings,
particularly 'width' and 'height', that works for all devices? AFAIK,
the answer is no, but there might be functions out there that I don't
know of.
POSTSCRIPT SPECIFIC:
If not, I'm considering implementing such a method myself. Is it
possible for R to infer the default 'width' and

R-beta: R without graphics
Is there a way to "unplug" the windows graphics from
R, so that it will work across a teletype telnet
session or in a Linux box proving resistant to having
windows added to it?
Thanks

[PATCH 0/2] drm/nouveau/bios/init: Improve pre-PMU devinit opcode coverage
NVIDIA GPUs include a common scripting language (devinit) that can be
interpreted by a number of "engines", e.g. within a kernel-mode software
driver, the VGA BIOS or an on-board small microcontroller which provides
certain security assertions (the 'PMU').
This system allows a GPU programming sequence to be shared by multiple
entities that would not otherwise be able to execute

pretended size postscript and size of the graphic device window
Dear list members!
I've two questions concerning graphic export:
a) I want to export my graphics as PostScript files. in this way I use the postscript() function. The tricky part is that they must have a pretended size (7 x 7 cm) and an absoulte font size (10pt).
b) how can i (permanent) change the size of the graphic device window?
Best regards

How to save graphics in portable way in batch mode?
Hi all,
What is the right portable way to save graphics
in batch mode?
Remarks:
1. Problem is STFWed and RTFMed. In particular a short note
about png() is found in R-FAQ. In fact, there were stated
that png() is not reliable under Linux in batch mode.
2. savePlot under windows is quite convenient, but
not supplied under Linux.
3. pdf() + postscript() < savePlot()

Problem with postscript graphics device driver
I recently installed R version 2.01 for OS X (version 10.3.6). I now
get the following error message when I try to use the postscript
function:
Error in get(name.opt, envir = envir) : Object ".PSenv" not found
This did not happen in previous versions of R (i.e. 1.9). I do not get
this error message when using the pdf graphics device driver.
Thanks,

GIF graphics device
Is there a GIF graphics device or some other way to generate
a GIF from an R plot instead of postscript?
Then, I could paste a plot right into PowerPoint or Word.

R-Graphics
I am having a strange problem with R graphics:
I am testing out R on a Sun Solaris machine. I generate a simple postscript
graph as:
postscript(file="temp.ps", paper= "letter")
plot(c(1:10), xlab= "index", ylab= "Cell Count")
title("Generic Test of R-Graphics")
dev.off()
When I view the temp.ps file with gs (version 5.50) I get the graph rotated

Export successively displayed graphics
Hello,
I am running R version 2.4.1 on Debian.
I am using some R functions which produce several graphics displayed
successively with an interactive prompt between each graph. For example,
the plot.varest (vars) function produces such output (one graph per time
series on which the VAR model is fitted). Plots on GARCH models also
produce such outputs.
Moreover, the frontend I am using for R

Generating a PostScript graphics under Windows
Hi,
I'am trying to generate a PS Graphic under Windows with a fixed location via
postscript(file="C:\\test.ps")
But I always become the error:
unable to start device PostScript
can not open 'postscript' file argument 'c:\test.ps'
There must be a very simple thing, that I make wrong.
Thanks in advance
