Incorrect libxml2.2.dylib version on Tiger install
Hi all, I have just installed OSX Server 10.4 and R comes up with the incompatible libxml library message reported by Dan Kelley a few messages ago. Xcode 2 does not ship with Tiger Server. I installed the X-Windows code. I can report that the version of libxml2.2 that is installed in this case is the version 8.0.0 dylib. [6]sboker at munimula:/usr/lib % ls -l libxml2.2* -rwxr-xr-x 1

changes in RSiteSearch() and http://finzi.psych.upenn.edu/search.html
This is about my searchable archive. The function RSiteSearch() now searches this archive. I'm considering the following changes. If you have comments, please write me. Try to avoid cc'ing the list. The Rhelp02a directory, which now contains all list mail from 2002 (about 100 MB), is getting larger and larger. This probably cannot go on forever, and performance might even improve if

search site for R (http://finzi.psych.upenn.edu)
My search site, http://finzi.psych.upenn.edu, has had several problems recently, all my fault, for which I apologize. But it now seems to be running reliably, on a new computer that is much faster than the old one. It uses htdig to permit search of the Rhelp mailing list, R documents, R functions, and various combinations of these. Search has several options, including Boolean search (with AND,

wine and Real Rhapsody player
I am trying to make Rhapsody (the Real Networks music service) to run under wine. This guy, AmishGeek, says he got it to work: http://www.amishgeek.com/info/rhapsody But I don't quite understand all his instructions...and I tried sending him an email but his email box was full. I don't understand the parts about installing windows media ( my machine is dual boot XP, Suse 9.3 ). Does

Compilation issues on Mac OS X Server 1.2

Mac OS-X port of R?
I'm wondering if a Mac OS-X port of R-1.2.2 has occurred. Jan de Leeuw posted that he had made a preliminary port using calls to X windows for the GUI portions, but that file doesn't exist on his server. Is someone doing this? If not, I'll get busy and see if I can make a preliminary port. Of course, lots of work would need to be done to get everything nicely integrated with

Bug in acepack (PR#2352)
This ancient bug was tracked to the acepack library, line 556 in line src/avas.f The troublesome line is: if (x(n).gt.x(1)) go to 30 Since the input arguments are empty, referencing x(1) and x(n) cause a Segmentation fault, and cause R to crash. Acepack author and maintainer Rob Tibshirani <tibs at utstat.toronto.edu> has been contacted with this information. This is not a

Rhapsody Streaming Music Service with Wine on Fedora
This program (www.listen.com) requires IE5+ and windows media player. I have tried installing those on a fake windows drive with version=win98 (quite a task for IE6 by itself), but when I try to install Windows media player 9, it tells me I already have it installed, and IE6 works slowly and gives lots of error messages. I have the program working on my WinXP partition, so I deleted the

print data.frame with a list column
I have a data.frame with one column as a list. When printing (or using knitr::kable) the list gets truncated. Is there some option to force printing the full list? MWE: df <- data.frame("name" = "A", "bands" = I(list(1:20))) > print(df) name bands 1 A 1, 2, 3,.... I'd like to avoid the ellipsis in "bands" column, rather print all list

Error During Rhapsody Install
So I followed the advice about installing SideNet and it seemed to go ok. After that I upgraded to the latest Suse 9.3 build of Wine. Then I tried to install Rhapsody.exe It got to a certain point in the install and reported: MessageType = 2, MessageID = 3060 : Param = 100fixme:vxd:VXD_Open Unknown/unsupported VxD L"mcstrm.vxd". Try setting Windows version to 'nt40' or

Trying to install a Win Program and getting a "No Audio Playback" error
Am trying to get the Rhapsody (listen.com) music service setup on my machine running a Debian-based distribution with a 2.4.24 kernel. I compiled the 5/05/2004 build of Wine successfully on my machine (confirmed by running Notepad), and have added a "[Version]" section to my config file to tell it I'm running Win2K since Rhapsody requires win2K or winxp. The install starts, but
