Hello, I'm quite new to Samba administration and I've inherited a working samba setup with roaming profiles however the login and logout times for users has been growing and I'm starting to think it's time do something about it. I'm thinking redirect some folders to a samba share on the network will speed up the login and logout times. Our setup has 25 Windows 7 workstations

Hello, I'm using a WIndows Server 2016 as a DC and Samba 4.5 (Debian Stretch) as a fileserver. The fileserver is made with Windows ACLs (exactly like the Samba tutorial). The Windows 10 Client cannot copy these 4 files: C:\Users\testuser\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\UPPS\UPPS.bin -> UNC\FS\profiles\testuser.V6\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\UPPS\UPPS.bin

Hi, AFAIK, the "logon path" parameter doesn't apply anymore in Samba 4. If you want roaming profiles you have to use profilePath user attribute. This works fine but I have an issue. Well, I've just added another directory to not make the redirected folders a the root. And, Favorites and Documents do work. Goog suggestion to check the Windows event viewer.
