Winbind Daemon fails to start, group shares no longer functioning
Hello All, I am currently having an issue with my samba PDC. I have recently updated to 3.6.5 Samba, and have made what i believe to be the correct changes in my config to account for the changes to the idmap system. My setup is as follows, SAMBA PDC on RHEL 6.2, which authenticates passwords through Kerberos, and Deals with user profiles via LDAP. I had about 25 Windows clients which were able

Changing the colour in boxplots using bwplot()
I've managed to find how to change trellis.settings$box.rectangle$col and trellis.settings$box.umbrella$col but I can't figure out how to change the colour of the point used to indicate outliers. There doesn't seem to be a general colour. What am I overlooking? best -- ************************************************************* ___ Patrick Connolly {~._.~}

Group members list being truncated in netgroup expansion
Hi, I'm using @<netgroup> syntax in my smb.conf (e.g. in valid users = ...) to refer to groups of users which are defined in /etc/group. The problem is that the group file has multiple lines for the same groupname/GID because there are so many members. Samba only interprets the first instance of the groupname and not the 2nd and 3rd etc. I cannot concatenate the groups lines as this

winbind: group membership issues.
Hi all, I have a Solaris 10 (update 4) box (x86) that is joined to an active directory via samba/winbind (3.0.25c version included with Solaris including latest patches). The users are working fine however their group membership is not. Users that should be members of certain groups do not seem to be: in that if I run 'groups' and check the group member ship for my domain account I am

How to group a count
Hello R users I have a dataset that has different types of records with different dates and times pertaining to each. I would like to have a bar graph of a count of the types(ie. The number of types) of recods by hour grouped by year. So the count of the types would be the y axis, the hour on the x axis and then grouped by year for easy comparison. I think that I have to use barchart however I

valid users and groups with winbind
Hi, Just starting on this list. I have samba (2.2.5a) on Linux/s390 and winbind authenticating and providing shares. I add the global to smb.conf: valid users = '@Domain Users' After that, I can no longer get the share even though I am in the 'Domain Users' group. # id poklcc+mikem uid=10001(POKLCC+mikem) gid=10000(POKLCC+Domain Users) groups=10000(POKLCC+Domain Users)

Problem with User and Group Ownership listing
I am installing smb 3.5 on a CentOS 6.2 host using smbldap-tools. I've previously installed a similar configuration on RHEL4 using smb 3.0 but CentOS now uses nss-pam-ldapd and nslcd instead of nss_ldap, so the configurations cannot be moved straight across. When I do a listing of a share directory that should have user and group ownership determined by LDAP, I get the uidNumbers and

Problems with group assignments
Dear All, We are trying to transfer a SaMBa installation from an old server to a newer more up-to-date one. The original server was sharing files to Windows XP systems in Active Directory (Windows Server 2003 R2 version), but as we move to Windows 7 and Active Directory (Windows Server 2008 R2 version) we need to upgrade the service. The old server was part of a NIS domain, with the

winbind and getent group
Hi, I'm having trouble to let "getent group" show the members of the group. The command is just listing the group name and gid but no members. So does "wbinfo --group-info". Is there some trick to do? "getent passwd" shows correct group memberships. smb.conf [global]     netbios name = hostname     security = ADS     workgroup = D1     realm =

AD Groups Failing to Authorize in Valid Users (does not start with S-)
For the last 3 weeks I've been working on getting RHEL4 (and 5, but that's a different story) to play well with Active Directory, OpenLDAP, Kerberos, PAM and NSS. It's been a long struggle but I now have a process to authenticate and authorize a RHEL4 client to a windows Active Directory server to that my AD Users can log into my Linux boxes (assuming their group permissions are set

samba 4 PDC issue with group policy object
Samba developers, I have implemented the samba 4 PDC into our production systems here at my office. It has been working perfectly fine and doing what needs to be done. Couple of weeks ago I was messing with the group policy management and started to get an error that the objects were not there; referring to the group policy objects. Nothing of significance that I can think of happened in that

getent group shows me twice user id in a group
Hi Samba list, I have a Linux Samba PDC file server with a separate ldap machine backend. Every thing works perfect. but the problem is that when I do a command on the samba server: # getent group | grep 1033 It gives me: gname:x:1033:usr1,usr2,usr1,usr2,usr3 Some of the user ids show up twice. Why? I checked ldap database and found that usr1,usr2 and usr3 show up only once in

OpenSSH 4.7p1 - support the use of netgroups in AllowUsers and DenyUsers configuration options
Hello, I have attached a small patch that enables OpenSSH 4.7p1 to use netgroups for users and hosts entries in the AllowUsers and DenyUsers configuration options in sshd_config. This has the following advantages: * hostnames or ip addresses don't have to be maintained in sshd_config, but you can use meaningful names for groups of users and groups of hosts. * large scale installations can

LDAP users/groups not showing up with nis, pam, & ldap
I am trying to configure NIS, PAM, & LDAP on a CentOS 6.2 host. I've previously installed a similar configuration on RHEL4, but CentOS now uses nss-pam-ldapd and nslcd instead of nss_ldap, so the configurations are a little different. Currently, local users and groups are showing up but not LDAP users. When I do a /getent passwd/ and/getent group/ I don't get LDAP users. When I do

variable type assignment in daisy
Dear Rhelp,   I did a daisy on 5 lifestyle variables, 3 of which were nominal and 2 were ordinal and assigned types “nominal” and “ordinal” for the variables, respectively.  I got an output indicating their types as “I” for interval(?). Doing it on the Rdata example “flower” gave the same types in the output as the types they were assigned to.  Why is this so? Below are the codes and outputs.
