next-server and tftp
Hi, A colleague of mine today showed me his dhcp/tftp configuration with pxelinux. He booted, from the network, an intel based machine with no disk. I was impressed. So I looked at the configuration he was using and it was simple....he had ISC dhcpd v2 and a tftp server configured as detailed on your web site. Curious, I suggested that he move the tftp server to another machine (on a

wine + games: Deux + Baldur 1 and 2
Hi all ! First, my apologies if this subject has already been discussed but the archives lack a "search" feature, so I've browsed a bit but not a lot before 2001. I browsed the winehq and I found some people have been able to use wine on Deux Ex, and Baldur 1 and 2. I installed the games with windows (they worked fine) and then tried running them with wine under linux (debian

replacement for IMAP_EMPTYTRASH=Trash:7
While running dovecot on debian etch using version 1.0.rc15-2etch3, i wonder the following: If i read the config files correctly, dovecot seems to have no equivalent of courier's IMAP_EMPTYTRASH=Trash:7 setting. Therefore, i wrote a script that dives into the user's directories and their maildirs. It looks like this: ============================================= #!/bin/bash for pad1

Samba Faxing..........
Dear All, Has anyone come up with a decent faxfilter script that actually works when use Samba + Mgetty/Sendfax. I can print to Samba printers from Windows with no problems, and I can use the faxspool command to send postscript files as faxes from a Linux box. The only part I can't get to work is the vital link between the Samba printer and

[patch] Activate Qemu options
Hi, This patch makes it possible for Qemu to use the SDL library, to conveniently replace VNC, which has horrible mouse support. It also adds a IOEMU_CONFIGURE_OPTIONS option in tools/Makefile, so that later on, we can call: $(MAKE_CLEAN) -C $(DIR)/tools $(CONFIG) IOEMU_CONFIGURE_OPTIONS="--audio-drv-list=\"pa oss alsa sdl esd\" --audio-card-list=\"ac97 es1370 sb16 cs4231a

analog or sip ? was far end disconnect supervision
Thanks to everyone that responded to my channel bank question. Ive decided that the Adit 600 would be a good choice. Then I got to thinking about SIP phones and wondered if their quality has progressed to the point that they can be deployed to customers who "just want their phones to work" and wouldn't tolerate any SIP hickups. As for pricing, I would think the SIP phones would

Deleting messages from MailDir
Hello, I have dovecot running with MailDir as a backend to store email and I would like to remove mail that is older that 30 days. I can do this by running 'find' on the MailDir but will this cause any issues with dovecot? Thanks, Matt. -- Matt Richards -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed... Name: signature.asc Type: application/pgp-signature

prefdm still unfinished?
After testing the beta of CentOS 5, i was a little surprised to notice that the display manager part of the prefdm file in /etc/X11 was exactly like in CentOS 4 / RHEL4 and previous versions including RH9. it reads like this (added line numbers for reference): 14 # Run preferred X display manager 15 preferred= 16 if [ -f /etc/sysconfig/desktop ]; then 17 . /etc/sysconfig/desktop 18 if [

Replay-gain
Hello everyone, I'm new to this flac thing (started about a week ago) but I have read a lot about flac and replaygain. As far as I understand it, replaygain is lossless in the sense that I can tell my player to ignore the settings or I can even use foobar2000 to remove the tags entirely, hence getting back to the original audio. If that is the case, why is there a warning in the foobar2000

Authentication fails (sometimes)
Hello, I am usually able to log me onto my domain. However, i have problems to get authentication under windows where I need admin rights, which also succeeds some times. I have the following in my groupmap: # net groupmap list admin (S-1-5-21-4092459118-2595994810-1099795350-512) -> admin guests (S-1-5-21-4092459118-2595994810-1099795350-514) -> guests gsb

Recorded webm file can be played, but much faster than expected
I am a new developer on Vorbis. Now I want to create a audio-only webm file from the micrphone. Vorbis encoder is necessary for the creation. Here is the procedure of the steps: 1. Initialize Vorbis environment. 2. Generate the header and export to the output stream. 3. Get the PCM samples of certain size. 4. Divide the original PCM data into Vorbis block. 5. Encode the block into Ogg

That was the solution. Perhaps it is worth mentioning in the INSTALL file. Garfield Brown wrote: >>1. is asterisk and/or spandsp what I need for integration with Cisco?
Hello list. I've been running a Cisco VOIP WAN for the last two years using CallManager V3.2. The remote 1760 routers are set up as H323 gateways. I've got a VG200 that is my PSTN gateway with a full T1 voice trunk to the local CO. I'm also running Unity v3.x for voicemail. We are currently using two ATA186 devices that are using the G.711 codec to pass incoming calls on the T1

strange: failing upload of special profile-dirs
Hi to everyone, Something quite strange occured to me this weekend as we wanted to switch our network to w2k ads structure with a sambaserver as main fileserver running winbind. The windowsprofiles are supposed to reside on the sambaserver and the client successfully loads the initial profile. The first time the user logs on to his machine, he gets some default .msi-softwarepackages assigned by
