bias of a boot statistic
Question:
How can I get access to the bias value of a boot statistic?
Details:
Boot function:
boot(data, statistic, R, sim="ordinary", stype="i",
strata=rep(1,n), L=NULL, m=0, weights=NULL,
ran.gen=function(d, p) d, mle=NULL, ...)
When I create an object, containing the bootstrap statistic (object <- boot
(....))I can call it and will get an output

bootstrap
Dear All,
I would like to use a nonparametric bootstrap to calculate the confidence intervals for the 5% and 95% quantiles using boot.ci. As you know, boot.ci requires the use of boot to generate bootstrap replicates for my statistic. However this last function doesn't work in my case because I am missing something. Here is an example
y <- rnorm(100)

CI from svyquantile in survey package
I am having trouble understanding (i.e. getting) confidence intervals from
the survey package. I am using R version 2.8.1 (2008-12-22) and survey
package (3.11-2) on FC7 linux. To simplify my question I use an example from
that package:
R> data(api)
R> dclus1<-svydesign(id=~dnum, weights=~pw, data=apiclus1, fpc=~fpc)
R> (tst <- svyby(~api99, ~stype,

grini<-function(x) {gini(variable,

Parsing results from boot
This probably has a super easy answer...but I claim newbie status! (I did
search help lists but this question is hard to isolate keyword-wise)
Basically, I'm trying to figure out how to parse the results from executing
boot(). I'm mainly interested in assigning the standard error estimate to a
scalar variable.
For example:

boot.ci error with large data sets
Dear List
I have run into some problems with boot.ci from package boot. When I
try to obtain a confidence interval of type bca, boot.ci() returns the
following error when the data set i large:
Error in bca.ci(boot.out, conf, index[1L], L = L, t = t.o, t0 =
t0.o, :
estimated adjustment 'a' is NA
Below is an example that produces the above mentioned error on my
machine.

Bootstrap BCa confidence limits with your own resamples
I like to bootstrap regression models, saving the entire set of bootstrapped
regression coefficients for later use so that I can get confidence limits
for a whole set of contrasts derived from the coefficients. I'm finding
that ordinary bootstrap percentile confidence limits can provide poor
coverage for odds ratios for binary logistic models with small N. So I'm
exploring BCa confidence

[LLVMdev] [patch] Union Types - work in progress
I've made all the suggested changes - however, I'm having a bit of problem
running the tests. I started "make check" and several hours later it had
only made it through about 1/3 of the tests. I'm not sure what the deal is.
