gmodels error: "no method for coercing this S4 class to a vector"
Dear All,
I'm having a problem using functions in the gmodels library on an object of class mer from the lmer package. Code for a reproducible example is below.

library(lme4)
library(faraway)
library(gmodels)
data(penicillin)

str and structable error
Hallo
I encountered a behaviour which puzzles me (but
finally I did get what I wanted).
I used structable and strucplot but I wanted to change
names of variables in structable object. I tried to subset
it, use names but to no avail. So I tried str and
expected to get a structure of an object but:
> sss<-structable(Titanic)
> str(sss)

[mh@designassembly.de: [Vtun] Windows port]
Just spotted this on the VTun mailing list. Might be interesting, if there
were a TUN/TAP driver for windows it would be a lot easier to make a M$ port
of tinc. Not that I feel much motivation to do so...

Best zwave controller for MH
I (canadian) store has a deal on for the vera lite controller:

and maybe there are more zwave controllers. Can someone (who is

new to dovecot, dealing with MH foders
Hello,
I'm sorry if this is a repeat, a few choice searches into google didn't
help and I found no search for the archives.
I can no longer put of moving away from UW-IMAP. Dovecot certainly seems to
be the right choice, but I am having problems getting it to do what I need
it to for all my mail. The machine is running the dist version, 0.99.12.
I have a system mailbox and a large MH

/home on BTRFS on SSD, now highly fragmenting virtuoso database - use autodefrag?
Hi!
Today I converted my /home from Ext4 to BTRFS by reformatting and copying
all over again.
I created the filesystem with -l 16384 -n 16384 -d single -m single on an
logical volume Intel SSD 320 and mount with compress=lzo, spacecache. Current state:
merkaba:~> btrfs filesystem show

How to latex tables?
Suppose I have a table constructed from structable or simply just an
object of class table. How can I convert it to a latex object? I looked
in RSiteSearch, but only found info about matrices or data frames.
Steve
For example, here is a table t2
> str(t2)
table [1:2, 1:2, 1:2] 6 8 594 592 57 ...
- attr(*, "dimnames")=List of 3
..$ Hospital : chr [1:2] "A"

latex tables for 3+ dimensional tables/arrays
I'm looking for an R method to produce latex versions of tables for
table/array objects of 3 or more dimensions,
which, of necessity is flattened to a 2D display, for example with
ftable(), or vcd::structable, as shown below.
I'd be happy to settle for a flexible solution for the 3D case.
> UCB <- aperm(UCBAdmissions, c(2, 1, 3))
> ftable(UCB)

vcd package --- change layout of plot
Hello,
I'm trying to use the vcd package to analyze survey data. Expert judges
ranked possible features for product packaging. Seven features were
listed, and 19 judges split between 2 cities ranked them.
The following code (1) works, but the side-by-side plots for Cities PX,
SF are shrunk too much. Stacking PX on top of SF would make for a
better plot. (I could switch the order of

[Possible spam] New project - any volunteers?
Greetings! (and apologies upfront for any duplication as a result of my cross-posting)
It''s been five weeks now since I began working with RoR. My experience has been incredibly positive. So much so that I''m emboldened to undertake a project I''d previously concluded I no longer had the technical chops to even _start_. I''ve included a brief description of

correlatation matrix
Hi there,
I wonder if there is a way of efficiently generating a correlation matrix of two expression matrices. I want to correlate miRNA and mRNA expression and used the following code:
##dat.mi miRNA expression matrix, dat.m mRNA expression matrix
nc <- nrow(dat.mi)
cor.mat <- data.frame(rep(NA,nrow(dat.m)))
pval.mat <- data.frame(rep(NA,nrow(dat.m)))
for(i in 1:nc)

Rsync performance with very large files
We're having a performance issue when attempting to rsync a very large file. Transfer rate is only 1.5MB/sec. My issue looks very similar to this one:
http://www.mail-archive.com/rsync at lists.samba.org/msg17812.html
In that thread, a 'dynamic_hash.diff' patch was developed to work around this issue. I applied the 'dynamic_hash' patch included in the 2.6.7 src, but it

Help with tables
Hello, I'm new using R and developing tables.
I have a problem in developing a table. In a questionaire I made I ask this
question "Please tell me the first three sympthoms caused by Respiratory
tract infection you've caught this year", then the people answer three
sympthoms, the first mention (Top of mind) is saved in a variable called
"P2_A", the second mention in

Rails and Service Oriented Architecture (SOA): any downsides?
Hey folks,
I like what I''m reading about improved performance via Service
Oriented Architecture for my Rails app. Stepping in that direction
will require some code reorganization, though. Has anyone regretted
the time invested in Rails SOA or suffered any other drawbacks that
might -- from a business perspective -- have disinclined them from
going SOA?

proposal: stats::as.matrix.ftable method
Following some discussion on R-help, I'd like to propose that an
as.matrix method be added
to those available for ftable objects. The reason for this is that
there are a variety of situations
where one needs to flatten a 3+ way table, but then use that for
analysis as a matrix, not just for
pretty-printing. There is an as.table method to turn the result back to
a table, but an as.matrix
