Can we update idmap documentation for 3.6?
Just when I thought I had idmap changes correct for 3.6, I realize I have a setup that's not quite right: getent passwd ->No AD users getent passwd DOMAINA\\aduser aduser:*:1001601:1000513::/home/aduser:/bin/bash Shouldn't "getent passwd" show both local and AD users? Samba has had such an identity crisis over the years with idmap documentation. Depending, on where you

httpd userdir problem
I'm running httpd-2.4.6-31.el7.centos.1.x86_64 under CentOS-7 (kernel 3.10.0-229.14.1.el7.x86_64). I cannot get the httpd userdir facility working; when I try to access localhost/Menloe I get the message "You don't have permission to access /Menloe on this server." I see in /var/log/httpd/error_log "Symbolic link not allowed or link target not accessible:

dovecot replacing uw-imap
Hey, I'm trying to sort out how to make dovecot replace uw-imap cleanly. But I have the following problems/questions: 1. Why is mbox support limited to user-owned directories? 2. Would it be possible to have dovecot target a different place than ~user/mail by default, specfically some place like /var/path/to/maildirs/userdir/ I'd like to move all my mail storage out of user homedirs and

FW: kerberos nfs4's principals and root access
If not done, add the server to the AD. Add the host and nfs to the COMPUTERNAME($) account. And use winbind to refresh the keytab. Stop samba, remove the keytab, create the new with the new SPN's in it, start samba. And Use the second keytab for apache with only http as upn in it. Apache 2.2 itk - 404 not found
Hi all, Freshly installed apache 2.2 with httpd-itk (from epel). When I try to access apache's document root from a browser on local network, it always serve me the Apache welcome page, even if I have a index.html and a phpinfo.php file in the /var/www/html folder. If point the browser specifically to http://server/index.html, I get a '404 Not found error'. I'm running CentOS

Managing users and home dirs
For those of you using virtual users, and SQL, how are you managing your users and their home dirs ? That is, what process do you use for adding/deleting users, creating their home dirs etc ? I suppose it's easy enough to do manually, inserting rows in the database, creating dirs, chown/chmod yada yada, but there must be a better way to do it ... If you're doing dovecot replication then it

Home directories
I've noticed that a lot of people are using e.g.: mail_location = maildir:/var/vmail/%d/%n Then either they don't have home directory set, or their home directory is the same as the maildir. http://wiki.dovecot.org/VirtualUsers/Home explains all the problems of not separate home and mail directories. Also whenever I try to suggest using a separate home and mail directory, the answer is

How can I prevent apache from mounting all home directories?
We use automounted user home directories on our CentOS 6.3 desktops, and on the desktops on which we start apache, I have noticed that all 900+ home directories listed in NIS get (and stay!) mounted. If I don't start apache, this doesn't happen. We don't need access to home directories from apache, so I would like to prevent apache from mounting these home directories, but I
