Samba 3.4.17 -Solaris10_U10- make- Fatal error with talloc
Hi, This is Prabu. I am trying to compile samba on Solaris 10_U10. I have posted the same in bugzilla. https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=8939 User requirement is to compile samba 3.4.17 to support their application. 3.4.17 is working on Solaris 9 and Solaris 10_U5. But not on Solaris 10_U10. ./configure and make gives error related to talloc. I have set the PKG_CONFIG_PATH. It is not

Samba 64 bit compilation
Which platform? If on Solaris 10 sparc, GCC (either from Sun or sunfreeware.com) should be 64-bit by default. GCC from Sunfreeware for Solaris 10 x86 will compile 32-bit by default. For Solaris, you are better off using Sun Studio and Dmake. Actually, you are better off just using the compiled version from Oracle/Sun. On 06/13/12 02:08, prabu.murugan at emc.com wrote: > Hi, > >

Samba4 Compile Error
Hello, I am trying to compile Samba4 on RHEL 5.3 which didn't have Python on it. I've downloaded Python-2.6.5.tar from http://ftp.samba.org/pub/tridge/python/. I get the following error during the compile : .......................................... ........................................... Still stuck with Samba on Solaris 10
I was hoping someone could post, or point me to, a clear set of instructions for compiling Samba 3.5.3 (or even 3.4.8) on Solaris 10. Or even just confirmation that Solaris 3.5.3 really can compile on Solaris 10 with active directory, nsswitch and zfs support. (I notice that Samba and Blastwave versions of Samba 3.4.x do not include zfs and nsswitch support.) I have a consistent issue that I

Samba AD/DC crashed again, third time in as many months
I do have the 4.3.3 sources. The only configure flag i set was --enable-debug. I can execute that install, however the issue of unwanted libs still lingers. I'm confused, is it or is it not an issue that i have libtld, libtalloc and pytalloc libs in /usr/lib? And if it is an issue whats the best path forward to resolve it? Fwd: RE: Problems 'make'ing on Solaris 9/10
On Solaris 10 (x86), trying to compile samba 3.5.2 I have downloaded GCC 3.4.x., make, binutils (ld etc) and sed from Sunfreeware. GCC (gcc -v) has /usr/ccs/bin/ld hardcoded so the only way around it was to symlink to the gnu one. # mv /usr/ccs/bin/ld /usr/ccs/bin/ld.1 # ln -s /usr/local/bin/ld /usr/ccs/bin/ld # ./configure --prefix=/usr/local/talloc-2.0.1 When setting some

Could I get some input regarding restoring ACLs? There's nothing in the Samba wiki about what to do with the ACL archive. I've finished all of the other steps already, what do I need to do to restore this archive? I poked around the system using locate, I don't think there are any packages installed on this system other than those associated with the 4.3.3 build I compiled. smbd /usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/samba/samba3/smbd.so /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/samba/libsmbd_base.so.0 /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/samba/libsmbd_conn.so.0 /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/samba/libsmbd_shim.so.0

Solaris 10 Configuration file
I download the samba-3.5.3.tar and need to create the executables for Solaris 10. I do not have the gcc compiler and would like to use the SUNWspro/bin/cc compiler. What I need is a "MyConfigure" script that will create a usable Makefile. I don't need anything fancy like ldap, ads etc. I do have gnumake. For example what environment variables are necessary (PATH, LD_LIBRARY_PATH,

Bug on PAM_Winbind ?
Hello guys, I am using PAM (0.82) to authenticate (samba) workgroup users and it works fine (pam_smbpass). But after joining a domain and start using pam_winbind too, pwauth (2.3.10) get a segmentation fault when trying to authenticate any workgroup or domain user. What happens is that it does authenticate the user successfully, but when it calls pam_end() to release its resources, it crashes.

Samba 3.0.23d
Good Morning I am looking to download the Samba 3.0.23d binary for Solaris. When I go to the area that is set up for binaries, there is nothing under the Sparc folder. Is there another place I can get the binary? Thanks in advance for your help. Barb Fair Lockheed Martin Valley Forge, PA 610-531-5442
