residual plots for lmer in lme4 package
Hi, I was wondering if I might be able to ask some advice about doing residual plots for the lmer function in the lme4 package. Our group's aim is to find if the expression staining of a particular gene in a sample (or "core") is related to the pathology of the core. To do this, we used the lmer function to perform a logistic mixed model below. I apologise in advance

DRS replication fails with Windows 2003 R2
Hello. We're trying to integrate Samba 4 as a DC in production. We aim to replace our only Windows 2003 Enterprise R2 Russian DC with 2 Samba DCs. However, we've got a replication problem, we aren't shure is it a bug or misconfiguration. Both Windows and Samba DCs are virtual amd64 machines, running under the control of Xen (so, at least the time is the same). Windows VM has GPLPV

Functions on matrix row level
Hi together, I have some data in a matrix structure - say 1000 rows with 10 columns. And I like to do some calculations (like max, avg or min) on row level. The only solution I found so fare was using a loop like for (i in 1:1000) { max[i] <- max(matrix[I,]) } It looks like that this is not very fast. Does an other way exists? Kind regards Ulrich

samba on solaris 11 can not longer join Windows AD domain
I would like to move my Samba file server (Samba 4.4.14 on Solaris 11) from a classic domain into an Active Directory domain. The active directory domain has one Win 2008 directory server / domain controller, and one Win 2012 R2 DS. E-mail, among other things, depends on a Microsoft AD backend. A few months ago I was able to join a test server to the AD domain. Today I tried joining a

Build on Itanium fails
Hi Guys, I hope this is the correct mailing list for this question. I have a dual 1.6 Ghz Itanium with 4 Gb of memory. Yes, a lot of power for Asterisk. I am running SuSE Enterprise Server with the 2.6.5-7.97-default kernel. I have just started to look into Asterisk and I am in the building stage. Now building something on Itanium is almost always a bit of a challange. This is unfortunately

Samba Standalone Server LDAP Issue
Hello List, i have a Samba Problem that is related to Sambas ldap behaviour. Problem: The standalone server ( no DC !!) tries to write an attribute to an write only ldap Slave is sent via WAN to the master write ldap. The problem results from the fact that samba never goes back to the "local" slave ldap to the "local" slave ldap so each samba request goes over an

Deriving Samples from specific, not implemented PDF for a QQ-Plot
Dear All, this is my first post to the R-help, so please don't be too strict. My problem concerns a QQ-Plot: I want to show how well empirical samples match with a theoretical distribution. The theoretical distribution has got several parameters, but I made it to fit via ML. Anyway, the theoretical function gives me the density for a given data point x. As far as I'm

separation depending on equal contents in more than one field
Hi, I have a dataframe: (obs <- data.frame(a=c(1,2,2,3,3,3), b=c(1,2,3,4,4,5), c=1:2)) attach(obs) In reality its about 1 million rows. Some of the datasets have same contents in col a and! b like row 4 and 5. I want to do some calculations on col c within the duplicated rows and merge them afterwards: layer <- function(x) round((1-prod(1-x/100))*100,0) (covnew <- aggregate(c,

Timout for LDAP connection
Hi, we are using a round robin dns record for connections to our ldap system. This works fine for almost all cases. In particular, for dovecot does this mean, when an ldap server is stopped, dovecot instantly reconnects to another ldap server. But when the network connection to the active ldap server is broken, dovecot sticks to the failed ldap server. Is there any possibility to define a
