How to set the dimension of a matrix correctly?
Hi all, I use kriging to interpolate the precipitation from stations, but the map of this results show lots of stripes. (please see the attachment)I think there's something wrong with the setting of the dimension of this matrix, however, I have no idea how to know or test to see if this setting is correct or not.I've tried to switch the latitude and longitude, but still got the same

Developing the UPS side of the UPS-NUT equation (via usbhid)
Things are going along well, but there is one remaining area of confusion...."units". I understand exponents now...it's basically how you pass decimal values. That's easy enough. But "units"....in other words, I have a voltage I want to put in a report. If I include in the report descriptor the fact that it is actually a voltage, with units of "volts",

Solution to differential equation
Hello, I am trying to find the analytical solution to this differential equation dR/dt = k1*(R^k2)*(1-(R/Rmax)); R(0) = Ro k1 and k2 are parameters that need to fitted, while Ro and Rmax are the baseline and max value (which can be fitted or fixed). The response (R) increases initially at an exponential rate governed by the rate constants k1 and k2. Response has a S-shaped curve as a function

A problem with gluster 3.3.0 and Sun Grid Engine
Hi, We got a huge problem on our sun grid engine cluster with glusterfs 3.3.0. Could somebody help me? Based on my understanding, if a folder is removed and recreated on other client node, a program that tries to create a new file under the folder fails very often. We partially fixed this problem by "ls" the folder before doing anything in our command, however, Sun Grid Engine

[LLVMdev] Soft floating point support
This patch supplies software IEEE floating point support. The comment from the patch reproduced below says all there is to say. This patch contains the prior "cleanup" patch; please don't apply that one. Please let me know of any bugs. It is tested reasonably well, but until I put together random tests it's hard to have 100% confidence. Neil. /* A self-contained host- and

About the concept of "materialization"
I’m current debugging one of my LLVM passes which utilized inline assembly. I constantly encounter crashes related to “value materialization”, according to the error messages I received. It seems a big concept in LLVM (or maybe generally in compilation), but I cannot find any document that is comprehensive enough to help me understand what exactly materialization is for. Could someone offer some

OCFS file system used as archived redo destination is corrupted
we started using an ocfs file system about 4 months ago as the shared archived redo destination for the 4-node rac instances (HP dl380, msa1000, RH AS 2.1) . last night we are seeing some weird behavior, and my guess is the inode directory in the file system is getting corrupted. I've always had a bad feeling about OCFS not being very robust at handling constant file creation and deletion

Boxplot with Log10 and base-exponent axis
Dear all, I would like to (i) produce boxplot graphs with axis in logarithm in base 10 and (ii) showing the values on the axis in 10^exponent format rather than 10E+exponent. To illustrate with an example, I have some widely spread data that I chart plot using boxplot() [figure on the left]; the log="y" option of boxplot() I obtained the natural logarithm conversion of the data and
