Force parent directories creation
Hello,
If I have a directory tree in the source machine like the following:
192.168.1.1 => /raid/system/mainfolder/folder1/subfolder/myfile.txt
and the target machine directory tree looks like:
192.168.1.2 => /raid/system/mainfolder/
Is there a way to send myfile.txt to the target machine and force rsync
to create the target directories (/folder1/subfolder) ?

New data source - now how do we build an R interface?
Folks,
A nice new data resource has come up -- http://data.un.org/
I thought it would be wonderful to setup an R function like
tseries::get.hist.quote() which would be able to pull in some or all
of this data.
I walked around a bit of it and I'm not able to map the resources to
predictable URLs which can then be wget. There's some javascript going
on that I'm not understanding.

header-lines of subfolders have to be rescanned after each client startup
Hi all,
after each startup of my different mail clients (thunderbird, outlook,
...) the contents of subfolders if I click in has to be renewed. This
takes some time for large folders. I just migrated from courier. And
there all subfolders were available immediately. Is there something to
configure?
Another effect regarding subfolders is that the client forgets, which
subfolders were opened

dovecot-shared Problem
Hi,
first, sorry for my english, i hope u understand me :-/
I try to set up dovecot with imap and maildir. I run into a permission

I need to have read and execute rights of all folders and mails for the
group (needed by the backup deamon).
first I tried with umask, but this only affect folders and no mails. Then I
read about dovecot-shared and tried this. Permissions are now ok but and

rsync error on Win Server 2008
Hi I'm using rsync (ver 3.0.5) to sync a local folder with a folder on a
server using SSH and encrypted key files. It works fine on Windows
2000/XP/2003/Vista but not Windows 2008 Server.
I get an error like the following:
"ssh XXXX_cygtls::handle_exceptions Error while dumping state (probably
corrupted stack)
rsync connection unexpectedly closed. error in rsync protocol data stream

Big problem with file permission !!
Hi,
we are running samba 2.2.5 (HP 1.0.9) on our HPUX file server. Well it is
running without any problems, but now
a user pointed out which looks like a big problem for me:
We have setup a lot of shares for projects. As an example
one share looks like this
[AG_Technik]
comment = Datenbereich der Technik
path = /mnt/Local/Groups/AG_Technik
