Run rsync even not connected
I hopethis hope this makes sense. How do you make rsync run even when not physically connected to the server? In other words, I run rsync from the terminal via vnc and when I log out of the connection, rsync stops running. Is there a script or something I can use?

A bit late, but someone (anonymous) provided a link to download.
the md5 is correct, it matches the last sourceforge state. And the md5
and sha256 mentioned at https://www.itefix.no/i2/node/12862 - before he
gave up the project.

Synology NAS, Tinc docker and windows
Hi!
I tried these two Dockers on Synology nas:
https://github.com/JensErat/docker-tinc/
https://github.com/bys-control/docker-tinc
For testing i set up a master Windows machine and a client one with also
Windows.
Connection between of them Works.
So no i try to add a Synology NAS, so i can do remote backup.
But i cannot set up any connection between the Docker container and
master Windows

Batch mode creates huge diffs, bug(s)?
So the short summary of my problem is, the batch file rsync creates is HUGE
for a very small change. The idea is to create workstation image with
partimage, update it with some software and send the image update diff over
the wire to a large number of destinations over a satellite link, but the
batch file updates are several orders of magnitude too large. I don't know
exactly how partimage

Errors compiling tinc 1.0.12 on QNAP NAS (x86)
Hello,
first of all - thanks for creating tinc! It has become an invaluable
tool for me to securely join a multitude of servers and clients through
a VPN.
Today, I was trying to compile Tinc 1.0.12 on my newly purchased x86
Linux-based QNAP TS-239 Pro NAS device (Kernel 2.6.30.6).
The configure-script finishes without error (see attached config.log).
However, configure.status fails with

Replacing NAs with 0 for a list of data frames
Hi,
I have a list of 100 data frames, each data frame has 50 obs of 377
variables.
I would like to replace all the NAs with 0 in all the dataframes.
Should I have a for loop for every data frame?
Below is an extract of how the data looks like.
List of 100

Plexus UPS on a QNAP NAS
Hi,
Has anyone managed to get a Plexus UPS talking to their NAS. I've followed
the excellent instructions here http://forum.qnap.com/viewtopic.php?f=182
<http://forum.qnap.com/viewtopic.php?f=182&t=35970&start=0> &t=35970&start=0
but I'm not there yet.
When I manually start upsdrvctl without the UPS plugged in I get

cwRsync got killed...
Last cwrsync was 4.1.0, current is 4.2.0.
It was avail on sourceforge.
Itefix.no decided "we want money for coding and support" - that itself
is not wrong. Though _I_ never needed any rsync help on neither linux
and windows (including mixed) scenarios.
But they killed their sourceforge downloads, all, including past
versions of cwrsync, including source.
The 4.2.0 client is still

Domains, vpn and bowse lists (samba 4.2)
Hi!
I apologize, if the questions are simple, but its been a long time
since I use Windows as enhanced typewriter only. The need to implement
domain etc arose just suddenly.
I am trying to implement VPN (and succeeded to implement it), even
able to join windows clients to the Samba AD domain over VPN, but I am
confused by not getting the browse list of computers for the network I

A question regarding bootstrap
Dear List Members,
I have two small samples (n=20), the distributions are highly skewed. Does
it make any sense to do a boostrap test to check for difference in means?
And if so, could this be done like this:
x <- numeric(10000)
for(i in 1:10000) {
x[i] <- mean(sample(sample1,replace=TRUE)) -
mean(sample(sample2,replace=TRUE))
}
(mean(sample1)-mean(sample2))/sd(x)

pygrub: Add option to list grub entries
The argument to "--entry" allows 2 syntaxes, either directly the entry number
in menu.lst, or the whole string behind the "title" key word. This poses the
following issue:

Static server side listing
I've looking for a solution for this and no amount of googling has
come up with anything.
Is it possible to provide a static listing on a server, say every
24 hours, that a standard end-user rsync can pull and use?
I have a lot of files to provide and the idea of every request
dynamically providing a file list in real time is killing my
server and is simply not needed. I am quite prepared to

Samba 4.1 & NAS & openSuse13.1 - wrong disc volume
Hello,
I would like to ask you for a help. I have new NAS server (NAS325 v2), new
notebook and also new, just released, openSuse 13.1 where is Samba 4.1.
I want to share my data from NAS to Notebook (via Samba because of other
notebook with Win7 will access).
In NAS I have set public folder and this folder I have put in fstab in
notebook with a mounting point. All seems OK and after mounting I

I set-up a basic AD DC using samba 4.1.9 successfully. I joined my NAS
to the domain, i.e. I saw no errors and see the users and groups of my
AD listed in the GUI of the NAS. When I try to connect to a share of the
NAS the following happens:

Enter AD\mgr's password:

summing columns with NAs present
Hello!
I have a data frame with some NAs.
test<-data.frame(a=c(1,2,NA),b=c(10,NA,20))
I need to sum up values in 2 variables. However:
test$a+test$b
procudes NAs in rows that have NAs.
How could I sum up columns while ignoring NAs (the way the function
sum(..., na.rm=T) works?
Thank you!

Replacing NAs in a data frame using is.na() fails if there are no NAs
Hi
This is a difference between the way matrices and data frames work I
guess. I want to replace the NA values in a data frame by 0, and the
code works as long as the data frame in question actually includes an NA
value. If it doesn't, there is an error:
df <- data.frame(c1=c(1,1,1),c2=c(2,2,NA))
df[is.na(df)] <- 0
df
df <- data.frame(c1=c(1,1,1),c2=c(2,2,2))
df[is.na(df)] <-

HVM domain on NAS
Hi Users,
Is it possible to create an HVM domain on NAS location. Did anybody tried
this on RHEL5 ?
I create a HVM domain using a file disk "using dd with ext3 on this", but
what i want is to rooted the OS / on the NAS location directly and it shoud
be booted from that location.
Thanks in advance for any kind of suggestions.

Live Recording on the NAS?
Hi,
I am planning to move Asterisk from physical server to a VM on a ESXi host.
VMware datastore / VM's will be stored on the shared storage on the NAS
(NSF). I might get Synology NAS.
Do you store call live recording on the NAS? There would be around 60
concurrent calls recording at the same time and it may cause network
bottleneck.
There will be other VM's stored on the NAS like
