I'm using Ubuntu Hardy Heron with a newly installed Wine 1.0.0. When I go into the Audio tab in winecfg and "test sound", it always comes up with a message saying "Audio test failed!" The other thing is that when I run GTA: San Andreas, it comes up with a message saying that it couldn't find an audio card so it doesn't run. Has anyone else had this problem? Any

As the title states, when I click on the Audio Tab inside of WineCFG it crashes horribly. I looked for a way to set it up manually through the registry but I didn't see anything so if someone could tell me how to set Wine to use ALSA or the opposite (OSS) I would be much obliged.

Alsa audio started working a couple of days ago with wine and then stopped working yesterday. Here is my experience. Pulseaudio cannot be removed any more. Hi everyone using Wine, I'm having a problem getting wine to use jack for the audio driver. I have compiled wine-0.9.47 from source and the jack headers are detected during configuration. Hi, I installed wine in order to be able to transfer data from my Polar Heart Rate Monitor to my computer. The program uses sound to transmit data files, which are picked up my the microphone and then the program shows all data, if all goes well. It worked perfectly twice, but then I get sound problems. The problem here, is that the sounds from the HRM are not being picked up by the microphone.

Whenever I change the sound driver from ALSA to OSS in winecfg all of my steam games are muted. Some of the games doesn't even start, some of them start but are totally silent with OSS. I installed a couple of non-steam games into the same wineprefix, interestingly they can use both sound systems. So this issue is applied only to steam games. If I apply the WINEDEBUG=+dsound parameter when
