igraph package, version 0.5
igraph is a package for graphs and networks. It has a C core and
uses a simple and fast graph representation allowing millions
of vertices and edges.
NEW FEATURES:
- We use the ARPACK library for graph related eigenvalue problems,
like Page Rank calculation, Kleinberg's hub and authority scores,
eigenvector centrality, etc. There is also a generic interface

igraph build problems
Hello:
I've been trying for days now to get igraph working on a debian sarge
install. There does not appear to be any pre-built packages, and when
I try and install within R, it blows up on the final linking, claiming
its unable to find libgfortran (which IS installed, and IS working for
all other users of the compiler).
I started up R and ran: install.packages("igraph"). It

vertex labels in igraph from adjacency matrix
I am getting some unexpected results from some functions of igraph and
it is possible that I am misinterpreting the vertex numbers. Eg., the
max betweenness measure seems to be from a vertex that is not connected
to a single other vertex. Below if my code snippet:
require(igraph)
my.graph <- graph.adjacency(adjmatrix = my.adj.matrix, mode=c("undirected"))
most.between.vert <-

igraph plot - vertex colors
Hi everyone,
I have successfully created and analyzed my network data. I am new to R, and Network Analysis too, but I want to color my vertex based on some of the centrality measures calculated.
Can someone point me in the right direction? Again, I am new to R, but given how powerful R appears to be, I figure this is probably pretty easy to do, I just wish I could figure it out.
Many thanks

igraph / eigenvector centrality score
Hi to all,
I have two graphs with the same number of nodes but with different
connectivities and also with a different number of clusters.
The two graphs represent the same "system" under different "conditions" and
then there is a one-to-one correspondence between a given node in the two
graphs.
It is correct to use the eigenvector centrality score as a measure of the
relevance

Bonpower Crashes Trying Sparse Matrix (Igraph)
Hello All,
I have been trying to do bonpow for a while now.Bonpow works for few graphs
and for few others it goes out of memory.
I did see reply to one of the posting Alph Centrality Crashed in Igraph
memory error.
The solution in the posting was to use sparse matrix. This is the link of
the message.

Weighted networks and multigraphs
I would like to apply network measures (such as betweenness centrality,
upper boundedness, etc.) to a weighted graph with non-integer weights,
defined by a euclidean distance matrix. The package sna provides the
measures that I want to use, but seems only to operate on binary graphs.
I have read work by Mark Newman
(http://aps.arxiv.org/abs/cond-mat/0407503/), who suggests that a

error in installing igraph
Hi R users,
I got warning messages when installing the package, and I pasted the
messages below. I checked updates that my R-studio is already the newest
version. I don't know how to solve the problem. Thanks for your help.

loading igraph package on Solaris
Hello,
I'm having trouble getting the igraph package to load on Solaris. I
can get igraph to compile and install from a local directory without
issues using simply "R CMD INSTALL igraph", however "library(igraph)"
from within R gives the following errors:
Error in dyn.load(x, as.logical(local), as.logical(now)) :

function: ploting an igraph object within lattice
Hi, I would like to be able to develop a function to plot an igraph object
with lattice (trellis type displays will be usefull for grouping etc).
Anyway, I mostly feeble
Igraph requires that you convert two columns of data two an igraph object
and to be able to plot the graph...I have tried a very, very simplistic (if
not naive) approach and surprise, surprise, it didn't work.

Cannot install igraph package
Hello,
Could you please test the solution at
https://stackoverflow.com/questions/45318188/getting-error-in-function-igraph-write-graph-graphml-while-installing-igrap
Specifically -
install.packages("devtools")
library(devtools)
install_github("igraph/rigraph")
Please let us know if this works

Trouble compiling igraph. . .
Been and R-user for about 5 years now in an industrial setting, and
always find the mailing list most helpful. I have run into problem
compiling igraph on R. I have contacted the maintainer of igraph, and
he has determined that it is not an igraph problem.
System is FreeBSD 7.2, R-2.10.1 [also have a sandbox machine running
FreeBSD 7.3, R-2.11]. Both machines fail the installation of igraph.

I want to use R for network analysis and have tried to install the

R and igraph problems
I have R 2.15.0 running under Windows 7. I installed the igraph 0.5.4 package from a zip file. When I attempt to load igraph using "library(igraph)", I get the error package igraph is not installed for arch=x64. When I repeat this using the 32-bit version of R, I get the same basic error but with "arch=i386" instead of x64.

Performance of graph and igraph package
Dear R users,
I'm using graph library to create a mesh-like network topology and
implement a load balance routing algorithm. The current implementation
uses graph, RBGL, and Rgraphviz libraries. I have a few attributes on
every edge to represent the network loading and capacity, and I
frequently update these values. However, I found it works so slow and
right now I'm consider rewriting it

Problem with shortestPath in igraph and qgraph
Hard to follow data analysis without data. Try making your example reproducible [1][2][3] and post in plain text (a setting in your emailer). Read the Posting Guide mentioned in the footer to avoid other posting pitfalls.
