Why a max mem setting?
Hi
I have just started to investigate the possibilities of resizing memory for my kvm virtual machines on the fly. It works just fine with virsh setmem and that's great. Now, what I'm wondering about is the <memory> directive in the xml domain definition. Why would I not just set that to the size of available RAM in the host machine? Am I missing some nuance or finesse to the

gnutls bug
I am running centos6.4. Where do I find the updated gnutls packages? I
see the updated source file here:
http://vault.centos.org/6.5/updates/Source/SPackages/
But I don't see the correct version of the packages in the 6.4 tree here:
http://vault.centos.org/6.4/updates/x86_64/Packages/
Where should I be looking for the updated package for 6.4?
Thanks.

Excluding RAW disk from snapshot
I have an oVirt engine node that currently runs the system on a qcow2
based virtual disk, and an NFS export volume on RAW. I'd like to take
a snapshot before a somewhat risky upgrade of oVirt and can't with the
raw image attached.
Looking at the documentation for the snapshot XML, I created this XML
file for the snapshot

AuthenticationFailedException: [IN-USE] Couldn't open INBOX: Permission denied
I've been pouring over the documentation for dovecot, but can't find a solution to this problem. I recently took over administration of the dovecot email service at the University where I work, and things were going smoothly. We've been creating email accounts for use with JIRA, a bug reporting/tracking system, and one day recently, when I tried to add a new account to JIRA, I got

Sorry about the late reply, I missed seeing your mail.
To begin with, what is your use-case? Sharding is currently supported only
for virtual machine image storage use-case.
It *could* work in other single-writer use-cases but it's only tested
thoroughly for the vm use-case.
If yours is not a vm store use-case, you might want to do some tests first
to see if it works fine.

SELinux triggered during Libvirt snapshots
I recently began getting periodic emails from SEalert that SELinux is
preventing /usr/libexec/qemu-kvm "getattr" access from the directory I store
all my virtual machines for KVM.
All VMs are stored under /vmstore , which is it's own mount point, and
every file and folder under /vmstore currently has the correct context that
was set by doing the following:
