Bug#666135: [PATCH] xen-xs: fix uuid of renamed domain
When the XenStore tdb lives persistently and is not cleared between host reboots, Xend (version 3.4 and 4.1) re-creates the domain information located in XenStore below /vm/$UUID. (According to the xen-3.2-commit hg265950e3df69 to fix a problem when locally migrating a domain to the host itself.) When doing so a version number is added to the UUID separated by one dash, which confuses

Bug#693217: Removal of xenstore tdb file before xenstored daemon
Package: xen-utils-common Version: 4.0.0-1 Consider removal of xenstored tdb file (located at /var/lib/xenstored/tdb) before start of xenstored daemon during the boot (or removal during the shutdown/reboot of the server) as proposed by Ian Campbell during our discussions [1]. Question: How to see existing xenstore watches
Hi, for debugging purposes I would like to see the existing xenstore watches and the waiters for the watch. The problem is, we got a EEXIST from xenstored while trying to set a watch from our guest. Is there a possibility to see this on the running xenstored? Thanks. Dietmar. -- Company details: http://ts.fujitsu.com/imprint.html

Xenstore restart
Hi, I am using xen-4.1-testing with Linux 3.4.3. The hotplug script xencommons echoes that xenstore is not restartable. Can anyone tell me the exact reason why it is not restartable. I tried to restart xenstore by killing the xenstore and restarting it with xencommons but after that VM creation doesn''t work. I used to do the same with the setting <xen-3.4+Linux-2.6.18> and it used

xenstore situation
Hi folks Some time ago I split out the xenstore utils out of the main utils package. I thought myself what could possibly be wrong and found nothing. I was wrong. Xen upstream decided to break the protocol between the client library and the daemon in a subtle way. This was compensated with a change in the daemon. Earlier versions of the library used the kernel access method as default. There is

XenStore communication
Hi, I want to know how everything communicates with XenStore. Do domUs use the front-end/back-end driver to dom0 and then the back-end driver contacts xenstored? In particular, how do the xenstore-* commands work on a dom0 and domU? And when should unix-domain sockets be used to communicate with xenstored? Thanks, Hayawardh _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing

Bug#666135: Multiple "Domain-0", slow libvirt
In our case, this seems to be some kind of bug with xenstored. For example, let's take our servers "vm7" and "vm10" into consideration, which are configured exactly the same, Debian Squeeze vanilla, no backports. "vm7", as stated below, has more Domain-0 entries, but executes virsh commands (f.e. virsh pwd, virsh list etc) faster (under a second) than

Xenstore daemon is not running after boot; although can be started manually later. Any pointers why ?
Hello, I build and installed Xen (4.1.3) from source, and I think I have got it working. Well, almost. I am using unmodified kernel of Fedora16 as my dom0 kernel. So this is what happened. I am able to boot into Xen, but the "xl info" failed with the standard error message mentioned in the tutorial. "libxl: error: libxl.c:56:libxl_ctx_init Is xenstore daemon running? failed to

[BUG 2.6.32.y] Broken PV migration between hosts with different uptime, non-monotonic time?
Hello, I encountered the following bug when migrating a Linux-2.6.32.54 PV domain on Xen-3.4.3 between different hosts, whose uptime differs by several minutes (3 hosts, each ~5 minutes apart): When migrating from a host with lower uptime to a host with higher uptime, the VM looses it''s network connection for some time and then continues after some minutes (roughly equivalent to the

[PATCH] [Xend] Move some backend configuration
This patch moves some dom0 variables and backend device configuration from frontend directories to /local/domain/<backdomid>/backend or /vm. Also, - the first console is created as a xend device and moves from console/0 to device/console/0 - /vm_path/<domid> is introduced, referencing the /vm path - /vm_path/device/backend holds the backend device location, rather than storing it

[PATCH] xenstore-stat v2
The entries in xenstore have permission attributes. The attributes can be easily altered by xenstore-chmod, however, I cannot find a easy way to see them. I''ve modified xenstore_client.c to raise a new utility. The utility checks the permission and makes an easy-look output. Please tell me any suggestions. Thanks. RFH: Corruption with blktap2 on Debian 2.6.32-39 + xen-4.1.2
Hello, I have observed several strange blktap2(?) corruption problems using Xen-4.1.2 on several 2.6.32-39 based amd64 Linux Systems. I run an installation of a domain, which use 3 blktap2 devices: 2× 20 GiB hard disk image files and 1× 1.1 GiB DVD iso file. During installation processes start to SEGV, which aborts the installation. * Not all processes in domU segfault in each run:
