So I added DC and DNS role to one of our windows 2008R2, and joined it to our domain. Everything's fine at this point. Then I wanted transfer the 5 FSMO role to windows. H - I'm a Resara Server user - Resara Server was a turnkey Samba 4 system. I have been lurking on this list, trying to decide what way to go for the future. I've seen some post regarding moving from Resara, but I'm not sure if I want to "get my hands dirty" - I've enjoyed the simplicity of Resara. Are there any other turnkey Samba solutions? Or simple cookbook solutions?

Hi! We have used Samba 4.1 as an AD-DC for a long time. Our installation based on Ubuntu 12.04 and Zentyal 3.2 Samba packages. Now we want to upgrade to Ubuntu 14.04 and a newer Samba version (latest Ubuntu Version is 4.3.9). The problem is, that Zentyal 3.2 has used /opt/samba4 as installation path before, but all new Samba 4 versions are installed to /var/lib/samba now. How can we migrate our

Switched everything off except one server, then restored that from June and was able to then build a new server and join it to the domain. And everything was peachy.
