rsync : old file dates generating error during nfs rsync session: Value Too large for defined data type
I was troubleshooting a problem we were having with some files not rsyncing
properly over an nfs mount (the destination device is a snapserver (NAS)
that did not have native ability to receive streaming rsync info, that's why
we were doing this rsync over an NFS connection to the snapserver).
Anyway, at first I thought this was just one of the quirks of the snapserver

force samba4 DC not to add all interfaces IP's to DNS?
Hi
I have a samba4 DC which also provides same KVM virtualisation services.
During provision all IP numbers of all network interfaces where added to DNS, even the private KVM brigde Interfaces.
Therefore clients which ask the DNS for AD-DNS records often get the IP of a an interface as answer, which is not reachable.
This slows down things like login etc.
I removed the DNS entries of the

How do I read a text (.csv) file to match a matrix/cross tab? (Object confusion??)
I'm having a problem reading data to set control totals for a dataframe.
I want to adjust a dataframe based on a 2-d table of values, which I get
by using :
> CurrentX1Sums <- as.matrix(xtabs(~tripid_nu+lineon, data=SurveyData))
> CurrentX2Sums <- apply(CurrentX1Sums, 1, sum)
I've created a .csv file with new (target) sums that looks like this:

smbpasswd file NFS sharable?
If I want to make two servers use the same encrypted passwords can I
share the smbpasswd file via NFS? Will updates/locking work correctly?
Is there an alternative? Can LDAP/PAM use encrypted passwords?

samba with acl support as member auf a samba controlled domain?
Hi
I am running a Samba PDC and a Samba member server in his domain.
The member server acts as a file server with unix acl's working.
Is it possible to get these acl's working under samba to?
The docs seem to say, that acl's are only possible if samba is a
memberserver in an NT-Domain using winbind.
In my case the PDC acts as a LDAP Server and the Member server is gets
