Unicorn logging in production env
Hi All, as I can see on
https://github.com/defunkt/unicorn/blob/master/lib/unicorn.rb#L53
the?Rack::CommonLogger used only in development env and in weird evn
called "deployment".
Any chance to add "production" to this case?

Announcing FreeBSD 2.0.5 ALPHA!
It gives me great pleasure to announce the release of FreeBSD 2.0.5-ALPHA!
2.0.5A represents a significant improvement over FreeBSD 2.0R and is our
release-candidate for 2.0.5R later on this week. We're doing a short ALPHA
release in order to shake out any glaring bugs before rolling 2.0.5R and
moving on to 2.1R, which is the bigger goal. If you're looking for 2.1R,
then THIS ISN'T

address (nil), cause 'memory not mapped'
Dear users,
I got this problem and i don't have a clue of what it could be happening...
The context: i'm running a loop in which i extract information from a raster
map (I work with GRASS and R, using spgrass6 package), and rearrange it to
create a matrix. I've tried it with small maps and it works smoothly, but in
large maps I have to resort to saving data in the hard disk regularly

Which distribution best fits the data?
Dear R-help community,
Does anybody know of a stats function in R that tells you which
distribution best fits your data? I have tried look through the archives
but have only found functions that tell you if it's normal or log etc.
specifically - I am looking for a function that tells you (given a
timeseries) what the distribution is.
Any help/advice will be greatly appreciated,

problem with loop to put data into array with missing data forsome files
Hi Jenny
If you want a general solution I understand.
However I just downloaded the file fine (as far as I can tell) so you
are welcome to have a copy. I can email it to you if you want.
I do not think your test for NA is valid. i.e
if(test != "NA"){
}
I think you should use
if(is.na(test)){
}
Or something similar.

attach() warning message
Hi,
I am using R 2.3.0 and my .First() file has the following line which causes
a warning:
attach(what="c:/r/jmb/.RData", pos=3)
I get the following message after .First() is loaded:
During startup - Warning message:
use of NULL environment is deprecated
Is there a simple fix that will eliminate this warning message? Thanks.

problem with loop to put data into array with missing data for some files
Dear R-help community,
My main goal of this message is to find a way of skipping a file of a month/year
in a loop that does not exist (and making it's output into an data.out array
would be NA) and moving onto the next year/month in the loop to carry on filling
data.out with real precipitation data.
The situation so far:
I downloaded 50 years worth of GRIB data files from the NCEP data

NAS with Samba and Multi-TT USB Hubs
Dear Sir or Madam,
I've a very specific question about samba...
My setup: I've a Raspberry 3B with Raspbian and a multi-TT USB hub attached to it. A few full-speed (1MB/s) mass-storage devices are going to be connected to this hub. On every device is just one big file (f.e. 50MB .txt file).
Multi-TT just helps reading more full-speed devices on a single hub simultaneously. This works

Quick trick on matching USB root hubs to PCI ids
Hi all,
I was looking through some archived posts in this forum, and noticed a few people mentioning having to use trial and error when trying to use PCI passthrough to get a USB root hub passed through to a HVM domU. I thought I''d share something I noticed which made this much easier for me.
Say I wanted to pass through a root hub which has my USB Plantronics headset connected to

Problem with the IAXy and Netgear Hubs!
Hi,
I'm having trouble when I try to contact any of my IAXy boxes connected
to a Netgear (DS516 and DS524) hub, but if I connect the IAXy box to
another hub or switch (not netgear) or directly to my Asterisk server
with a crossover cable it works just fine.
Do you have any idea of what can be causing this?
Thanks in advance,
Raul.

reaccessing array at a later date - trying to write it to file
Dear R-help community
I am trying to write an R object (data.out) to a file in order to re-access it
later and not have to re-load up the array with data every time. Here is the
form of data.out
> data.out <- list(lats=seq(88.542, -88.542, length=94),
lons=seq(0, 360-1.875, length=192),
date=vector(length=nyr*12),
data=array(NA, c(nyr*12, 94*192))
)

thicker axis in levelplot
Dear R-help community,
I need to find out how to make the black axis line around my plot thicker in
levelplot, I cannot find the correct command in ?levelplot or ?par - or if it is
there I cannot get it to work - any help would be more that appreciated!
Here's an example script - I would want the code for making the axis bordering
the plot thicker:
x<- seq(pi/4, 5*pi,length=100)

Integrity checking NANOBSD images
We have a number of Soekris devices that we will be deploying
remotely in semi- hostile physical environments. The remote links
are dialup so I dont have a lot of bandwidth available. I want to do
integrity checks of the images so that I can detect any tampering of
the flash image.
If I upload a static sha256 binary to /tmp on the remote box (which
is a RAM disk) and then do something

Experience with IBM X346 machines and Sangoma
Hi All,
I have read many posts about problems with Asterisk on some systems. I
also set up Asterisk on many different boxes. But I have never seen
the following...
There is an IBM X346 (3.4GHz Xeon) with one Sangoma A104. This system
is currently idle, that means there is nothing running except Asterisk
(1.2.7.1). We are handling no calls now, but if I do a vmstat, I get
peaks in system load up

KINGSTON SOHO Hub
I just ran into a completely unexpected problem.
It appears that the Kingston SOHO Hubs don't do TCP. They do NETBEUI very
well. After 4 hours of troubleshooting I went home and got my cheap Bay
Networks 8 port hub and everything worked.
This is to hopefully prevent others from running into the same problem.
Nothing on Kingstons site mentions no TCP support but swapping only the hub
worked
