Creating floppy image without root permissions?
Hello All:
I've recently had to provision some RHEL and CentOS VMWare
instances. There was no network connectivity so I had to use a
kickstart floppy and DVD iso rather than installing from our
repository. To create the floppy I used the following:
As root:
dd if=/dev/zero of=floppy.flp bs=1k count=360
mkfs.vfat floppy.flp
mount -o loop floppy.flp /mnt/floppy
cp base_kickstart.ks

FIX vs FLP switch?
Gents,
Where might I find the Fixed Point switch for the Silk portion of Opus
1.0.1? I have generated a config.h file and added #define FIXED_POINT to my
project, but still get FLP compile errors in the Silk files.
Thx,
MikeH

Announcing FreeBSD 2.0.5 ALPHA!
It gives me great pleasure to announce the release of FreeBSD 2.0.5-ALPHA!
2.0.5A represents a significant improvement over FreeBSD 2.0R and is our
release-candidate for 2.0.5R later on this week. We're doing a short ALPHA
release in order to shake out any glaring bugs before rolling 2.0.5R and
moving on to 2.1R, which is the bigger goal. If you're looking for 2.1R,
then THIS ISN'T

I am making some assumptions, but assuming the 217.195.xx.xxx is your
provider, you are getting this back from them:
"Got SIP response 556 "No address found" back from 217.195.xx.xxx:5060"
Are you sure that "0033149xxxxxx" is the format the provider is expecting?
You might try enabling SIP debug on the 217.195.xx.xx IP and seeing what
the INVITE looks like, but

Problems with Intel Netport Printserver and Samba
Running RH6.0 I am able to print just fine from linux, the problem now is
getting smb printing working. I am using an Intel Netport Express PRO/100
printserver. Previous to my upgrade from RH5.2 when I had the printer
directly connected to the samba server, I was able to print just fine from
the windows client machines (not using the raw method)
My /etc/printcap is as follows

[LLVMdev] Status of blocks runtime in compiler-rt?
The Blocks language and implementation specifications are checked into
clang/docs.
More generally, on Mac OS X, the blocks runtime is linked into the C
library ("libSystem"), and available to the entire OS. Clients that
create blocks may implicitly get compiler-generated calls to some of
the runtime functions, and the developer may also make explicit calls
to, e.g.,

Basic questions concerning mail...
Hey all,
A few minutes ago, I installed Dovecot, hoping things would get clear by
just looking at the relevant config files, but since they don't, I hope
someone here could give me a clue...
What I want to achieve is really only basic functionality. It's just for
personal use, so it shouldn't get too complicated. Up til now, I have
been using fetchmail to get my mail off of several

[LLVMdev] Status of blocks runtime in compiler-rt?
Hi Jordan,
I've committed my changes to hook up the BlocksRuntime/ subdirectory
of compiler-rt, using CMake.
The cmake build process is documented at <http://llvm.org/docs/CMake.html
>
More specifically, to use this support on FreeBSD, for example, you
would do:
1) Install cmake (<http://www.cmake.org/>), add it to your PATH
2) Check out the source code for llvm and clang

Potential problem with -Wunreachable-code
Hello, hopefully this is the correct place to ask this...
We use distcc with clang++ and I have recently added -Wunreachable-code
to our set of warnings. The problem I am seeing is the compile fails
with (valid) unreachable code warnings on the slave, but passes (no
warning) locally. All machines have the same compiler version

fdisk, sysinstall and 6.1-BETA3/amd64
Hi folks,
I'm moving a server over to amd64 in the next week or so and I'm preparing
the RAID1 disk set with the 64 bit ports as we speak. I came across a nasty
little bug whilst doing so.
Motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-K8U with a ULi SATA controller and AR0 set up as
a RAID1 array using FreeBSD pseudo-RAID (ULi's metadata isn't supported). So
far, so good. Then into sysinstall

[LLVMdev] Status of blocks runtime in compiler-rt?
Good day,
I been working on the CMake build system (which is nice and portable)
+ code clean ups over the whole Compiler-RT software suit.
I recently added Blocks to the CMake build system but there is some
ugly looking warnings I need to fix up in the Blocks code which I have
not had time to look into yet.
N.B. The CMake build system is not complete yet due to my lack of
time, however I am still
