The 1999 FreeBSDCon event (October 17-23rd) is filling up fast, so
please register soon if you want to attend this event! Due to
overwhelming demand for Kirk McKusick's BSD Internals tutorial (which
sold out several weeks ago), we have also just made arrangements for a
"repeat performance" on the 22nd and 23rd of October. People already

Is anyone successfully using some sort of hardware crypto solution to
combat the overhead of SSL in http transactions? I'd love to hear
anything good or bad about this.

AstriCon Europe 2007
Dear Asterisk Community,
As some of you may know, we have held Asterisk conferences (AstriCons)
in Europe the past two years. This year we are considering hosting
another event, this time in Milan, Italy in late June. We would like
to know how many members of the European Asterisk community would be
interested in attending.
The Milan event would last a total of two days and would include an

Linux World Expo 2004 in SF
The cAos Foundation and hosted projects have been granted a booth in the Dot
Org Pavilion of Linux World Expo in SF this August.
If you are a developer or contributor of the project and would like to help
staff the both, please send me a private email so we can coordinate.
I don't have the actual numbers of Exhibitor badges that we can get yet, but I
would assume it is not many. This means

been given the right to an exhibitor booth at the upcoming LinuxWorld

here: http://www.linuxworldexpo.com/live/12/events/12BOS05A).
This is a awesome opportunity to further cAos and CentOS linux. But I
do not feel that we should give 1/2 an effort. I feel that

*** Asterisk Sunday News: Off track with 1.0, moving forward
Thank you very much for all feedback on Asterisk Sunday News!
This is the last issue for June. This week I'll go on holiday
and will be back with more news in early July.
My kids are getting summer leave this week and we'll be
visiting the south of England for a while. Another part of
Europe that still use their own currency.
If you think there's an European standard, you're

Unix Fast File System (UFS/FFS) 1/2 - (usage/install)
There is a confusion about the name of this file system, then I
decided to contact the author (Kirk McKusick) who replied:
"The name has always been confusing (my bad). The code is broken into
two parts, the part that handles naming (UFS where the U stands for
Unix), and the part that handles disk layout (FFS where the F stands
for Fast).
When the two parts are put together they are called

Mongrel 0.3.13.1 -- Quick Small Fixes
Hi Everyone,
This is a small release that fixes a little bug, some of the
documentation, and adds the new RedirectHandler code and a @redirect@
call for the mongrel.conf files. It''s fresh so don''t rely on it.
Everyone should upgrade with the usual *gem update* command (which tells
you it''s "Upgrading...") and tell me how it works.
This release fixes:

Weird internaldate behavior with 1.0-test80 and mbox folder
Has anyone else encountered weird date behavior with mbox-style folders?
I am nearly ready to bite the bullet and convert my UW imap hierarchy
(which is in mbx format) to Dovecot. In so doing, I need to convert each
UW-specific mbx-format mailboxes to the more portable mbox format, which
Dovecot can read. (This is done with the 'mbxcvt' utility that's part of
UW.)
I am then
