ipf function in R
Hi I have a 3 x 2 contingency table: 10 20 30 40 50 60 I want to update the frequencies to new marginal totals: 100 130 40 80 110 I want to use the ipf (iterative proportional fitting) function which is apparently in the cat package. Can somebody please advice me how to input this data and invoke ipf in R to obtain an updated contingency table? Thanks. By the way I am quite new to R. -- Dr

C_LogLin (stats/loglin)
Hi everyone, I have a question regarding a C function of the "stats" package in R. I tried to understand the ?loglin? basic function of the ?stats? package implemented in R. The implemented function itself runs without any problem (perhaps see sample). When I ran it line by line it stopped at the lines 23-24 of the loglin-function; (the following line): z <- .Call(C_LogLin,

indicator or deviation contrasts in log-linear modelling
I am fairly new to log-linear modelling, so as opposed to trying to fit modells, I am still trying to figure out how it actually works - hence I am looking at the interpretation of parameters. Now it seems most people skip this part and go directly to measuring model fit, so I am finding very few references to actual parameters, and am of course clear on the fact that their choice is irelevant for

Default login information for a ArtDio IPF-2600
Hello, I recently purchased a ArtDio IPF-2600 phone from voipsupply.com, but they did not include a manual. Does anyone know the default login information? I have tried all of the common ones that I can think of. If anyone knows, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! _________________________________________________________________ Stay in touch with old friends and meet new ones with

ArtDio IPF-2000 or Sipura SPA-841
I am looking at some lower cost phone to use with Asterisk. What is the ArtDio IPF-2000 or the Sipura SPA-841 like? Also, I see voipsupply.com has an ArtDio IPF-1000 listed, is this a new or an old model? I cannot find any information on it. Adi

Packet flow through IPFW+IPF+IPNAT ?
Hi. On my FreeBSD 4.8 configured IPFW2+IPF+IPNAT and I use them all: - IPFW - traffic accounting, shaping, balancing and filtering; - IPFilter - policy routing; - IPNAT - masquerading. I want to know, how IP-packets flow through all of this components? What's the path? incoming: IPFW Layer2 -> IPFW&Dummynet -> IPNAT -> IPFilter ? outgoing: IPFW Layer2 ->

ipf stopped working on 5.3
I've had ipf working on a few 5.3 servers for quite awhile. Not too long ago some developers had to do some coding work and were coming from dynamic IP's. I (reluctantly) opened up SSH to the world. Immediately I started seeing the attacks where bots of some sort would try to break in with a variety of different users. So, I (thought) I closed it up again and told the developers to use a

Loglienar models
Hello, I'm planning to start using R. Before getting into it, I'd like to ask a couple of questions. Does R carry out loglinear model analysis? That is, will it provide the chi-squared goodness of fit test statistic for a given hierarchical loglinear model? Maybe even do a model selection procedure (like Brown's two-step procedure, or forward/backward selection)? Thanks

possible bug in aov?
Hi, I'm interested in doing a repeated measures anova using aov. The procedure is nicely described in section 6.7.1, pp. 24-27 of Baron and Li's "Notes on the use of R for psychology experiments and questionnaires," and I've reproduced their example exactly. My own problem is almost identical to theirs: rawdat<-c(1.6530074e+001, 1.2124254e+001, 1.0040371e+001,

loop for a large database
Yes, I am a newbie. I have a data.frame (MyTable) of 1445846 rows and 15 columns with character data. And a character vector (MyVector) of 473491 elements. I want simply to get a data.frame with the count of how many times each element of MyVector appears in MyTable. I've tried a loop with : for (i in 1 : length (myvector)) sum (MyTable== i) but it crashes my computer. I've also

ipf question
Hello. I am a relatively new FreeBSD user. I have samba, ssh and vnc server running on it. I am also trying to set up the IPFILTER on it. I used the handbook to familiarize myself with the software and the sample script provided in the chapter discussing ipf, I decided to use as a starting point. After reading the ipf chapter I assumed that if "block in log first quick on xl0 all" is

FreeBSD - Secure by DEFAULT ?? [hosts.allow]
Hi, I need to know what the implications are to make use of the hosts.allow file on a FreeBSD Production Server (ISP Setup)? The reason I'm asking, is that I've recently decommisioned a Linux SendMail Server to a FreeBSD Exim Server, but with no Firewall (IPTABLES) yet. Besides the fact that it only runs EXIM and Apache, is it necessary to Configure rc.Firewall? or can I only make use of

using string variable as order() function argument
Hello, In my script I would like to use a loop, which sorts the dataframe according to different columns, pointed by the string variable. id col1 col2 col3 1 10 0 4 8 2 11 1 2 2 3 12 0 8 3 4 13 0 5 5 Usually the order() function can be used like this: sorted = mytable**[order(column3) , ] which results in properly sorted table: **
