Xen+Munin+Monit?
Hi All,
What is the best way to remotely monitor/administer a group of xen domUs
across a network?
We''re planning to deploy a few H/W servers with paravirtualized domUs.
What are the best alternatives? What works and What doesn''t?
Share your experiences.
Cheers
Rajan

LVM over Xen + Network
Hi,
We are planning to have LVM being used over a network of 3 h/w machines(500
GB Disk each)
Each hardware machine will have 2-3 domUs.
Can we store these domUs as a Logical Volumes stored across Network of these
3 machines?
Can one DomU exceed the 500 GB (physical drive size) and store say 1 TB of
data across the networked Physical Volumes?
Has anyone done this before?
Thanks and regards,

LVM+Xen+FreeNAS possible?
Hi All,
We''ve limitation of 500 GB per server as per ServerLoft.

setup.

/dev/sda3 - dom0 - ext3
/dev/sda4 - LVM - one LV for each domU, We''re planning 3 DomUs.
/dev/sda5 - FreeNAS. Is that possible? Can it be in one of the LVs under 4th
partition?

only one mysql process in pstree
Hi All,
I have two servers, one is centos 4.3 (new) and other is rh9 (old). Both of
them run mysql as the primary database server. I installed mysql via the rpms
available in mysql.com downloads.
Recently when i do "pstree", i noticed that RH9 server shows many mysql
children while centos shows only one. Here is the pstree result. (Both of
them runs the same version of mysql)

Mac OS X / preview.app / fullrefman.pdf
this may be slightly off-topic, as it doesn't pertain directly to the
R application, but some of the documentation.
when reading R's fullrefman.pdf (available from

preview.app (version 4.1, on Mac OS 10.5.x), if i try to do a keyword
search within the document, the indexing step freezes about 2/3 the

Help in error removal
Dear all,
I am new to programming in R.
I deal with microarray data, which is a data frame object type. I need to carry out a few statistical procedures on this, one of them being the pearson corelation. I need to do this between each row which is a gene. So the desired result is a square matrix with the pearson corelation value between each row. So the first column would be (1,1)=0,(1,2),(1,3)

Regarding smb4k
Hi all
Recently I found that, in smb4k, if you press ctrl+v after selecting any
share, you can view the contents of a share without mounting it. Does anyone
know a command-line equivalent for the same? thanx

Found no measure of association or correlation for 2x2 contingency tables in

Thanx.

Building manuals are failing now that MikTex 2.9 has removed texi2dvi.exe
According to the MikTex bug reports [1], MikTex 2.9 has removed
texi2dvi.exe last week (on 2015-09-29) as "it was not compatible
(anymore) with the original shell script texi2dvi (GNU Texinfo)." I
found this out the hard way as I just (unknowingly) updated MikTex
this evening, and then, while building R-devel_2015-10-08 on Windows7
64bit using the Rtools 3.3 toolchain (4.9.3 branch), had

Pearson corelation and p-value for matrix
Hi,
I was trying to evaluate the pearson correlation and the p-values for an nxm matrix, where each row represents a vector. One way to do it would be to iterate through each row, and find its correlation value( and the p-value) with respect to the other rows. Is there some function by which I can use the matrix as input? Ideally, the output would be an nxn matrix, containing the p-values

Efficient ways of finding functions and Breslow-Day test for homogeneity of the odds ratio

I have been trying to find a function to calculate the Breslow-Day test for
homogeneity of the odds ratio in R. I know the test can be preformed in SAS
but i was wondering if anyone could help me to perform this in r.
In addition i have the fullrefman file to search for functions in the basic
R packages, does anyone have any suggestions of an efficient way of
