net classification improvement?
Greetings,
I have generated several ROC curves and would like to compare the AUCs.
The data are cross sectional and the outcomes are binary. I am testing
which of several models provide the best discrimination. Would it be most
appropriate to report AUC with 95% CI's?
I have been looking in to the "net reclassification improvement" (see
below for reference) but thus far I can only

alternative option in skewness and kurtosis tests?
I have a question about the D'Agostino skewness test and the Anscombe-Glynn
kurtosis test.
agostino.test(x, alternative = c("two.sided", "less", "greater"))
anscombe.test(x, alternative = c("two.sided", "less", "greater"))
The option "alternative" in those two functions seems to be the null
hypothesis. In the output, the

Survival
Hola Carlos.
Muchas gracias.
Miguel.

NRI or IDI for survival data - Hmisc package
Hi, I am trying to calculate net reclassification improvement (NRI) and Inegrated Discrimination Improvement (IDI) for a survival dataset to compare 2 risk models. It seems that the improveProb() in Hmisc package does this only for binary outcome, while rcorrp.cens() does take survival object, but doesn't output NRI or IDI. Can anyone suggest any other packages that can calculate NRI and IDI

Survival
Hola.
Una duda....
Alguien sabe si hay algo hecho en R para comprobar si un modelo de supervivencia está bien calibrado?
(usando las pruebas de Nam-D'Agostino o de Gronnesby & Borgan).
Thnks.
Un Saludo,

Comparing skewness
Hello,
I'd appreciate any ideas on how to compare the skewness of two samples. In
my case, one sample is likely to be roughly normal and the other one
skewed. I could run two D'Agostino tests, but then I'll have to correct for
the family-wise error. What if both samples are skewed? If there are no
general tests (or they can't exist), I'd like to know.
Thanks,

Help Building LLVM for Android
Hey Guys,
I'm working on a project in Android related to System-level Audio DSP
Effects for Tuning Android Audio. I want to leverage Faust (
https://faust.grame.fr/) to allow users to program their own filters.
Faust provides a libfaust implementation which includes a JIT Compiler
which leverages LLVM and seems to be the best path for me to use.
Unfortunately I'm having problems

Anscombe-Glynn, Bonett-Seier, D'Agostino
Dear useRs,
I was searching CRAN for implementation of kurtosis and skewness tests,
and found that there is some kind of lack on it.
So, I have written three functions:
1. Anscombe-Glynn test for kurtosis
2. Bonett-Seier test based on Geary's kurtosis (which is not widely
known, but I was inspired by original paper describing it, found
coincidentally in Elsevier database)
3.

Sweave and sideways
Hi there,
I'm rying to 'turn' an Schunk in an .Rnw file(Xemacs-21.4.13, ESS-5.2.8,
R-2.1, miktex-2.4.1705).
Has anyone got the isorot package to work with Sweave?

About Mcneil Hanley test for a portion of AUC!
Dear all
I am trying to compare the performances of several methods using the AUC0.1
and
not the whole AUC. (meaning I wanted to compare to AUC's whose x axis only
goes to
0.1 not 1)
I came to know about the Mcneil Hanley test from Bernardo Rangel Tura
and I referred to the original paper for the calculation of "r" which is an
argument of the function
cROC. I can only find the

Comparing differences in AUC from 2 different models
Hi,
I would like to compare differences in AUC from 2 different models, glm and gam for predicting presence / absence. I know that in theory the model with a higher AUC is better, but what I am interested in is if statistically the increase in AUC from the glm model to the gam model is significant. I also read quite extensive discussions on the list about ROC and AUC but I still didn't find

xyplot and abline
Dear All,
I wonderif there is a simple way to draw a regression line in the xyplot:
more specifically, let:
age <- c(20:30, 31:40 )
age.cut <- cut(age, breaks = 2 )
y<- rnorm(20)
x <- rnorm(20,4,1)
xyplot(y ~ x| age.cut, xlab="x", ylab="y")
How to draw (in the plot given by xyplot) the two regression lines (y ~ x) corresponding to the two category

Help creating a symmetric matrix?
Hi,
I am trying to work with the output of the MINE analysis routine found at
http://www.exploredata.net
Specifically, I am trying to read the results into a matrix (ideally an
n x n x 6 matrix, but I'll settle right now for getting one column into
a matrix.)
The problem I have is not knowing how to take what amounts to being one
half of a symmetric matrix - excluding the diagonal -

Samba 4.2 : External authentification and rights access management ?

I am looking to replace a file sharing solution, based on webdav, by

I?ve just read the technical notes on the wiki but couldyou tell me more
about the technical feasibility of the following:

Question on implementing Random Forests scoring
So I've been working with Random Forests ( R library is randomForest) and I
curious if Random Forests could be applied to classifying on a real time
basis. For instance lets say I've scored fraud from a group of
transactions. If I want to score any new incoming transactions for fraud
could Random Forests be used in that context. Linear Regression is nice in
that it is very easy to

COX PH models for event histories?
This is a question about the use of the Cox proportional hazards model to analyze event histories.
I am looking at the responses of sympathetic nervous system activity to a stimulus. The activity I observe is a burst that can only occur once per heart beat cycle (e.g., a binary count). Typically bursts occur in 60-80% of the heart cycles * sensory stimuli can modify these burst probabilities.
