problem loading siar
Hi,
I have a problem while loading the "siar" program in R.
When I am loading siar, system does not load convexhull. On the screen I
have seen such writings.
The following object(s) are masked from ‘package:spatstat’:
convexhull
How can I load the convexhull, how can I unmask from this package? I will
be appreciated if you give advice about this.

Please help
Dear All,
I am a research student in environment. I have only little programming knowledge. I am currently doing the last project about rainfall impact on ground water quality in an area. It happens that I have to use R to read rainfall data (3 dimension) from ASC file (*.asc), and then write them into one NCDF file (*.nc).
I have been working very hard on study R, but I

sampling from the uniform distribution over a convex hull

This is implemented in library 'spatstat'.
If x and y are vectors of coordinates of your initial set of points,
library(spatstat)
W <- convexhull.xy(x, y)
P <- runifpoint(42, W)
will compute

Finding convex hull?
Dear UseRs,
I would like to know which function is the most efficient in finding
convex hull of points in 3(or 2)-dimensional case?
Functions for finding convex hull is the following:
convex.hull (tripack), chull (grDevices), in.chull (sgeostat),
convhulln (geometry), convexhull.xy (spatstat), calcConvexHull
(PBSmapping).
I also would like to know if there is a function that can be used

FOSDEM: Lodging and presentations
Hi all,
Since it looks like I''ll be attending FOSDEM, I now need to find some
lodging, and if possible I''d like to line up a presentation or four.
Someone in the community offered to let me crash with them if I came
to the conference (someone with the nick of ''robk'' on IRC, I think),
so I''d like to take that person up on it if possible.

Distribued ZFS
Hi Ged;
At the moment ZFS is not a shared file system nor a paralell file system.
However lustre integration which will take some time will provide parallel
file system abilities. I am unsure if lustre at the moment supports
redundancy between storage nodes (it was on the road map)
But ZFS at the moment supports Sun cluster 3.2 (no paralel acccess is
supported) and new upcoming SAS Jbods

Oracle and ZFS
Hi All ;
One of our customer is suffered from FS being corrupted after an unattanded
shutdonw due to power problem.
They want to switch to ZFS.
>From what I read on, ZFS will most probably not be corrupted from the same
event. But I am not sure how will Oracle be affected from a sudden power
outage when placed over ZFS ?
Any comments ?
PS: I am aware of UPS''s and

Lost email (inbox) TWICE
I have been losing my inbox. It happened twice. (2 days ago and just half an
hour ago)
I am using RHEL 4.0 with dovecot-0.99.11-4.EL4
System uses sendmail + procmail, dovecot is up and running.
Here is how it happened:
I was using Mozilla Firefox with IMAP.
At the same time, I logged in from Squirrel Webmail in IMAP to the same
account. Squirrel mail did not show my inbox contents.
