documentation fixes (cvs) (PR#5632)
The patch below attempts to correct some unclear sentences in the R documentation. In the case of coplot.Rd it wasn't clear whether "shingle" bar had a special meaning or was a typo for "single". I've just put a comment in that case. regards -- Brian Gough Network Theory Ltd -- Publishing Free Software Manuals 15 Royal Park Bristol BS8 3AL United Kingdom Tel: +44

Please make lowess() generic (was: Reorganization of pac kagesin the R distribution)
I don't really see the point. lowess() is a two-dimensional smoother only so the main point would only be to allow lowess(y ~ x, dat) instead of lowess(dat$x, dat$y). Please make lowess() generic (was: Reorganization of packages in the R distribution)
As I've mentioned a number of times. I find it very useful to have lowess() become a generic function so that a lowess.formula() can be defined. Below is a patch that makes both changes, as well as updating the corresponding help documentation. Gregory R. documentation bugs (cvs) (PR#5543)
Hi, Below I've flagged some sentences in the R documentation (from cvs) which are garbled in some way. If anyone can clarify what these sentences should say I'd be grateful. The problems were picked up as part of the proof-reading of the R manuals by Ciaran O'Riordan. After looking at the text neither of us could figure out what the documentation was meant to say. -- Brian Gough

[PATCH] Regression test portabilization.
Hi All. Attached is a patch (against OpenSSH Portable -current) to portablize the regression tests. It will also apply to OpenBSD's (with a couple of rejects). They are based on work by Roumen Petrov and myself, with contributions from Corinna Vinschen and David M Williams. My goal is to have the tests work out of the box on as many of our supported platforms as possible so running the

PATCH: Fix IRIX 6 testsuite failures
Having built rsync 2.5.5 on IRIX 6.2 with gcc 3.1, I ran into two failures when running the testsuite with make check: both the chgrp and hardlinks tests fail: The failure in the chgrp test occurs here: + rsync -rtgvvv /amnt/callisto/volumes/obj-irix5/local/obj.irix5/rsync-2.5.5/testtmp.chgrp/from/ /amnt/callisto/volumes/obj-irix5/local/obj.irix5/rsync-2.5.5/testtmp.chgrp/to/ rsync: opendir

NetBSD patches
------- Forwarded Message The following patches should fix vorbis-tools to build on NetBSD. I'm not including the diff to the configure scripts, so you'll need to rerun autoconf in the toplevel and libao directory after applying these patches to the configure.in files. It also appears that vorbis-tools/libao/ao_libs.inc is automatically generated by a configure script but checked into

More NetBSD patches
Here's a unified diff, proposed by Christos Zoulas (with a little reworking to get the configure.in part a bit cleaner). The main target of the patches are NetBSD compatability, although there are some changes making if (pointer X) into if (X != NULL) as well. Christos also proposed a change to Makefile.in, but I'll send that as a seperate mail. Thanks, David Index: configure.in

[Patch] Improve portability of regression tests
Hello All. As promised, here is what I needed to do to get the regression tests to work on AIX & HPUX. It goes into a bit of detail in the hope that others might be able to get them running on their platforms. I've run these mods on AIX 4.3.3, HP-UX 11.00, Solaris 8, Redhat 7.3 and OpenBSD 3.0. The problems I encountered: * prereqs (pmake, md5sum) * bad directory owner/mode causing auth

[PATCH] Solaris 10 and missing OpenSSL functions >128bit
Hi all. Solaris 10's default libcrypto does not have support for AES 192 and 256 bit functions. The attached patch, against -current, and based partially on an earlier one by djm, will use OpenSSH's builtin rijndael code for all AES crypto functions and thus will allow it to build and function on Solaris 10 without the extra crypto packages (SUNWcry, SUNWcryr) or a locally built OpenSSL.

Possible new configure option: --with-fatal-coredumps?
Hi all. What's the feeling about adding a new configure-time option to generate a core dump on when fatal() is called? It might help debug certain types of problems, but runs the risk of sensitive information being left in the core dump. Obviously, it should default to "no". Anyone like the idea? Anyone hate it? -- Darren Tucker (dtucker at zip.com.au) GPG key 8FF4FA69 /

[RFC][PATCH] Require S/KEY before other authentication methods.
I need a way to make sshd require S/KEY authentication to succeed before allowing either password or public-key authentication. Currently, we can only have S/KEY+password, by using PAM for authentication, and configuring PAM accordingly. But PAM of course can't handle SSH public keys. I thought for a while that ideally we could actually use PAM to tell sshd what methods of authentication to

patch to ssh.c for KerberosTgtPassing and readability patches for config files and manpages
Hey All, Found a very minor problem with client implementation of KerberosTgtPassing command line flag in ssh.c (first diff). We also made some readability patches to the config files and manpages to make the option clearer (the remainder of the diffs). diffs are against -current Index: ssh.c =================================================================== RCS file:

Line splitting in system() (PR#6624)
According to the manual, system() splits output lines into 8096-char chunks; under UNIX, actually seems to return 8094 chars, and drop the 8095th. Spot missing digits in: x2 <- system("perl -e 'print \"0123456789\"x10000'", intern=T) Looks like a bug in the code to remove newlines at src/unix/sys-unix.c:218 -- fgets() reads size-1 characters and adds

libao patch: Minor clean up / Byte-order proposal
Here is a patch to fix the compiler warnings I mentioned earlier. I've removed the byte-order changes that don't make sense. (Thanks Michael for pointing out the error!) As for the byte-order changes, since some output modules don't have the option to set the sample byte-order, I would like to standardize libao and ogg123 on native byte-order. Will this break the ao_wav.c patches

[PATCH]: Allow SSHD to install as service under WIndows 9x/Me
Hi, the following patch is a (hopefully least intrusive) extension when sshd is started so that it daemonizes itself. In that case Windows 9x/Me has a slight problem with sshd as soon as the current user logs off. The sshd daemon will be killed as well. Since installing services is very different between NT and 9x, the way used for NT boxes isn't working well for 9x. For that reason
