Notes on building a gcc toolchain for Rtools (but not multilib)
Hi, [This is a follow-up to the "New version of Rtools for Windows" thread in January, but I just subscribed and don't know how to reply to an old thread -- my apologies.] I was able to use the nuwen distro to build a gcc 4.9.2 toolchain and use it to build the latest R-patched with it. Below are some notes about what I did; I hope they will be useful for keeping Rtools

Windows gcc toolchain for R 3.2.0
To anyone following the Windows toolchain saga: The gcc 4.9.2 toolchain that is currently in Rtools33 has too many incompatibilities with existing code, so we won't be using it in the R 3.2.0 build. I will soon be uploading to CRAN a new version of Rtools33 that is very similar to Rtools32, containing gcc 4.6.3. We are continuing to work on the new toolchain, and hope to have it ready

Problems with building R from sources
Hello all, I'm trying to build R 32bit from source in a Windows 64 machine. I have followed the steps in "R Installation and Adiministration" ( http://cran.r-project.org/doc/manuals/R-admin.html#Getting-the-source-files) or at least I think I did everything described. I am not sure if I have installed the libjpeg, libtiff and libpng files though. I have upzipped them in the

inline/Rcpp: Problem with space in path under Windows
I am trying to run inline/Rcpp under Windows 64. The RTools are installed on a spaceless path D:\rtools. Inlining pure c-code works perfectly. When I try the sample code for cpp in the cxx Documentation, I get: x86_64-w64-mingw32-g++.exe: C:/Program: No such file or directory The path to the compiler is correct. Obviously there is some problem with the space in C:/Program (Files). Any ideas

R Compilation gets stuck on Windows 64
Hi Avraham, What a coincidence, I have been following this post of yours: https://www.avrahamadler.com/2013/10/24/an-openblas-based-rblas-for-windows-64-step-by-step/ Looks like this post is slightly older than what you have shared previously. It is strange that you did not get the attachments. I am pasting the contents of the MkRules.local here:

R Compilation gets stuck on Windows 64
Hi All, I am trying to compile R from source on a 64 bit Windows. I have downloaded and installed all the third party software as per the R - documentation. The compilation starts fine and after a while it stops with the following error message: D:/Rtools/mingw_64/bin/../lib/gcc/x86_64-w64-mingw32/4.9.3/../../../../x86_64-w64-mingw32/bin/ld.exe: cannot find -lRgraphapp collect2.exe: error: ld

New version of Rtools for Windows
I have just uploaded to CRAN a new version 3.2.0.1948 of Rtools for Windows. This will become visible there in a few hours, and be copied to mirrors thereafter. People who want to build packages that include compiled code can use this to supply the compilers, etc., that are necessary for the build. It also includes some extra materials for people who want to build R itself. This version

OpenMP problem with 64-bit Rtools
I've been getting pqR to work on windows systems, and in the process have discovered various problems with R core versions of R and with Rtools. One is with the implementation of OpenMP in 64-bit Rtools. This problem is in Rtools215 and Rtools33, and presumably all the ones in between. You can see the problem with the following test program: #include <stdio.h> #include <omp.h>
