Milestone: 1000 packages on CRAN as of today(?)
Hi, I was just looking at the "CRAN Daily Package Check Results" [http://cran.r-project.org/src/contrib/checkSummary.html], and realized there are 1000 packages on CRAN as of today (look at row 3 in the table below). Yet another quite extraordinary milestone in R history. Last updated on 2007-04-12 11:48:32 Results for installing and checking packages using the three current flavors

Problem building package for R 2.10.0 on Mac OS X
Hi I have submitted a package (rioja) to CRAN. It checks OK for all R versions and OS's except r-release-macosx-ix86 where it fails when checking the examples. Specifically, it fails because R can't find the package vegan which is needed in a function. Here is the snippet from the check results: ### Begin snippet checking examples ... per-mailbox message limits
This is something Timo hacked up for me a few years ago and I realised should be on the list in case anyone else wants them. The following patches will limit maildir folders to 4000 messages on Dovecot 2.0.* and 2.1.* The Specfile patch is against the Cityfan Redhat EL5 SRPM but is likely to work on most build platforms Changing the message limit requires a recompile. It's brutal and

64-bit R on mac
Hi, My Mac OS is Leopard. I downloaded R-GUI-5496-2.9-leopard-Leopard64.dmg from http://r.research.att.com/. I run R from the image disk, but it always "quit unexpectedly". What could cause the problem? Is it because that I have a 32 bit R installed already installed in the same machine. Regards, Peng

Compile Packages under Windows and CHM
Hi, I have been developing a small package. It install under RedHat Linux 9.0 without a problem. However, I have a small problem under Windows XP. I am using R-1.8.0 on both systems and HTML Help Workshop 4.74.8702.0 on Windows XP. I created the package under Linux. windows/g95 peculiarity
I'm not looking for an answer here, this is just a report of a peculiar event I've observed and can reproduce. I'm developing a g95 (20050129) compiled package on windows xp pro using R-2.1.1, and gcc-3.4.2 (mingw special). An older version of the F95 package compiled and ran without problems. The new version of the package includes extensive changes in the code. The package has a

Hi, I am working at a major financial institution and we would like to embed R in one of our front office application. The application is written in C/C++ so I started by trying to compile the examples in "tests/Embedding" of R 2.0.1. [LLVMdev] [cfe-dev] [3.6 Release] Release Candidate 2 available
Hi all, I would really like to get a patch into 3.6 for libc++. The patch renames template parameters with the names '_A' and '_V' to longer names. '_A' is frequently defined in ctypes.h and that could cause libc++ to not compile. I'm fairly sure the code was added between 3.5 and 3.6 so that would make this a regression. The patch can be found here:

To all TextMate users that wants to run tests with cmd + r in Rails 2.1 and above.
Because the require ''test_helper'' at the top of all the tests is relative now (it used to be something like require ''../test_helper''), you can''t just run the file with ruby anymore. And running the file with ruby is exactly what command + r does. Which means you can''t easily run your tests from textmate. The solution:
