Input encoding problem when using sweave with xetex
Hello Because I want to use different true type fonts with latex, I''m using the XeTeX typesetting engine for my sweave-documents. I''m using Lyx with Sweave on a Windows 7 PC and have set up LyX to work with XeTeX according to the following instructions: http://wiki.lyx.org/LyX/XeTeX Because the input file for XeTeX is assumed to be in UTF-8 encoding, I set the encoding

accented characters in isolinux
hey people I'm new to the list and would like to say thanks to everyone that has worked on syslinux/isolinux. It's one of those tools that everyone uses at some stage but no-one ever really takes much notice of it - mainly because *it just works*. So congrats ... Now onto my question - I am customizing Fedora Core and I want to change the isolinux boot.msg screen to display some

accented characters in filenames mangled when rsyncing to a samba share
Hi folks, I am having a problem rsyncing files with accents in the names. I've seen similar problems reported a few times before in the archives but they didn't seem to be referring to exactly the same problem as what I have, and I'm not good enough at Linux to solve my problem by generalising from the information there: sorry. Anyway, my specific details are this. I am running rsync

v2.3.11.3 solr plugin search via MUA fails to match accented ascii characters; cmd line exec of `doveadm fts lookup` PANICs (assertion failed)
I've since rebuilt/reconfig'd all parts of my setup from scratch; some good cleanup along the way. Atm, my entire system for send/recv, store/retrieve, + rules & search is working as I intend. Ok, mostly ... Except for this accented-character search mystery. I've got a _lot_ of mail with various languages in bodies, so _do_ need to get this sorted. > On 10/18/20 2:58 PM,

isolinux, extlinux and accented characters
Hello, First of all, thanks very much for this piece of software, it's working like a charm. I'm using it to boot a Linux distro I'm working on. What I want to deal with is the display of accented characters in ISOLINUX. First, I set EXTLINUX up to boot an ext2-formatted USB stick. No problem so far. I wrote a config file ordering to load a font (lat-9w) to display french

Problem with accented characters in portuguese
Dear all, I've recently encountered a strange behaviour when using R with portuguese accented characters. The most curious aspect is that using the same code with ESS under XEmacs the behaviour is different. My system is: > R.version _ platform i386-pc-mingw32 arch i386 os mingw32 system i386, mingw32 status major

Sweave and accents
Hello. I want to write my notes in Sweave in my own language (spanish). But my language has accents and when I run Sweave in R to translate my Snw file into the tex file the accents are translated into unrecognizable characters. For example, the word "cami?n" (truck) is translated into "cami??n" Somebody knows how can I do it? One solution I don't like is using a

Accented characters in share names
Hello, I'm facing a problem that should be common but for which I don't find much info. I'm trying to smbmount some smb share served by a w2k3 server. I've no problem to mount the shares unless their name includes accented letters. I've successfully replaced the spaces in the names by \040 but replacing the accented letter by their UTF-8 and latin-1 in octal value, but

translating HTML character entities to accented characters
I've imported a .csv file where character strings that contained accented characters were written as HTML character entities. Is there a function that works on a vector to translate them back to accented (latin1) characters? Some examples: > grep("&", author$lname, value=TRUE) [1] "Frère de Montizon" "Lumière" [3]
