Can <dl> be made sortable?
I was experimenting with using some interesting CSS styles with <dl> <dt> and <dd> elements. But then I needed to be able to make this list a sortable_element in Rails, and it did not work. I had to convert it all to <ul> and <li>. Is there a reason why sorting can''t work within definition lists? I searched the list archive and found the

What does \Sexpr[results=rd]{} exactly mean in Rd?
Hi, I have spent a few hours on the R-exts manual and the documentation of parse_Rd() (as well as the PDF document in the references), but I still have not figured out what results=rd means. I thought I could use an R code fragment to create an Rd fragment dynamically. Here is an example, in which I was expected the output to be a describe list <DL> in HTML, but it turns out not to be true.

PR#1132.
Just now I again had occasion to want nested describe lists in a documentation file. I found that the bug which I reported on 18 October, 2001 still persists. I checked on the bug report at the R web page, and found that the notes say ``Not a problem in R 1.4.0 (2001-12-08)''. Well, it's still a problem for me --- using R 1.4.1. addition of <dl> lists to redcloth
hello! I wish Textile had a syntax for dl-lists. they are very useful in my opinion, mostly as a substitute for deeply nested headings and two-column tables. Wikicode has a syntax for it: ; Foo : definition ; Bar : definition creating: <dl> <dt>Foo</dt> <dd>definition</dd> <dt>Bar</dt> <dd>definition</dd> </dl>

Using 'dimname names' in aperm() and apply()
I think that the "dimname names" of tables and arrays could make aperm() and apply() (and probably some other functions) easier to use. (dimname names are, for example, created by table() ) The use would be something like: -- x <-table( from=sample(3,100,rep=T), to=sample(5,100,rep=T)) trans <- x / apply(x,"from",sum) y <- aperm( trans,

youtube-dl No module named 'pkg_resources'
youtube-dl doesn't work for me after a recent update. I do not use it often, so do not know whether the update matters. It gives the error message: Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/bin/youtube-dl", line 6, in <module> from pkg_resources import load_entry_point ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'pkg_resources' I've tried reinstalling

printing html help to the terminal
I'm trying to get help to print the help pages in html format to the terminal. This is in order to be able to see the html help files remotely. If I do printURL = function(file) {a=readLines(url(file));cat(a,sep="\n")} options(browser=printURL) options(help_type="html") then invoking help with ?print gets stuck. I think what happens is that the web server run by R that
