Building customized R for Windows installer using 'make myR'
I am attempting to build a customized R installer on Windows, using the Inno
Setup installer.
I am following the instructions in Section 3.1.8 of the R Installation and
Administration Manual ("Building the Inno Setup installer"), which includes
the following passage:
An alternative way to customize the installer starting with a binary
distribution is to first

Building rinstaller using R-devel (3.2.0-to-be) halts when trying to copy html files
As the build process, especially for Windows, is changing
significantly for R 3.2.0, I am trying to build R-devel in
preparation. When running `make rinstaller`, I get the following
error:
cp -p ../../../etc/x64/Makeconf R-devel/etc/x64
mkdir -p R-devel/doc
cp -p ../../../doc/CRAN_mirrors.csv R-devel/doc

Inno Setup 6.0.2 fails before creating exe file on Windows (R-3.6.0)
I am working on compiling R-3.6.0 for Windows 10 64bit using rtools40
(beta 11). I had also installed the most recent update of Inno setup,
which is now 6.0.2.With that version, `make risntaller` fails at the
call to ""C:/R/Inno/iscc" R.iss > R-3.6.0.log 2>&1" and just exits,
pointing to line 175 of the makefile which is:

UnauthorizedAccessException in R(D)COM
Dear friends,
I am trying to create a web application to produce some
statistical result using R. In order to avoid high CPU usage of web
server caused by R, I have to create an ASP.NET web service in another
server to involve R.
But I am facing the unauthorizedAccessException when I call the
web service, even I have assigned access and launch permission to everyone

bug in Rf_PrintValue ?
I'm very green with R, so maybe this is not a bug, but it looks like one to
me. The following program segfaults at the second call to Rf_PrintValue().
To failure depends on the value of the y-string. E.g., if I change it from
"coverage" to, say, "COVERAGE", the segfault does not occur.
/* bug.c */

help files for libraries that aren't in the defaults library tree
Hello,
I created a library for a bunch of functions that I use frequently
so that I dont have to carry duplicate copies around to wherever I fire
up an R sesssion. However, I have problems locating the help files
for those functions. Here are some details.
I created the library "myR" and installed this in /home/royle/R
using:

Problem compiling R 3.6.1 on POWER 570 system
I've for a RHEL 4 box on a P570 system. My end user wants to have a
64-bit version of R compiled due to the large amount of memory they
require (this image has 16GB allocated to it).
I can compile R fine in 32-bit mode, but it can't use more than 2.4GB of
RAM before it falls over and dies.
Compiling in 64-bit mode for POWER systems "should" be as easy as adding

tests Rin Rout
Hi the list,
Some rumour (!) say that is it possible to prepare some tests for
checking our code using .Rin and .Rout. It seems to be a very good
practice, but I did not manage to find information on it.
So does someone know how it works ? What are we suppose to write in Rin ?
More precisely :
- I have a package myPack.r in directories ~/myR/myPack/R/
- I create the directory

I tried to use the 'make' file discussed in the last R-news.

Building 'R' from source for Windows.
I know I am going to catch alot of comments for this question but I am really stuck. If there is some written documentation that I have missed please redirect me.
I want to build 'R' from source on a Windows Platform. The main reasons are that I want to check out a debugging some existing packages so I need to build with debug symbols and I want to check out a 64-bit version of

nondigits in R_FILEVERSION mess up Windows build
I tried for the first time to build R from source on Windows, where I
got the source code via svn. Per the Installation and Administration
manual, I altered src\gnuwin32\MkRules so it had the the locally
correct paths to HTML Help Workshop and Inno Setup 5. I also set
USE_SVNVERSION=yes, as suggested in MkRules itself. Then, while in
the directory src/gnuwin32 I ran 'make all

R CMD SHLIB help
Hello,
I have been having a great deal of difficulty using R CMD SHLIB to
generate the .so file from my C file. I am using Win XP, and I have
cygwin installed. I updated to the latest MinGW make files in order to
get rid of some error. But I still get a few warnings (shown below), and
no shared file (.so file) produced at the end.

Building R on Windows 7 -- No rule to make target `etc/GETDESC', needed by `fixetc'.
Hi all,
I have been experiencing difficulties building R (be this 2.13.1,
beta, devel, or rc) on Windows 7 64bit.
I believe I am following the manual religiously, and don't think I am
doing anything differently from the many successful build attempts in
the past. Unzipping the tarball works fine, but when I invoke make, I
get (shown for R-rc, same for 2-13.1):

*and its location?
