Hi everybody,
I''ve been trying to setup a Ruby on Rails application on a Ubuntu Feisty

mongrel_cluster weren''t working. The setup was correct (based on some
tutorials found on the internet), but there weren''t any pid files for the
mongrels started.
In case anybody else has experienced the

RH 8.0, Mozilla and help.start() - Deja Vu All Over Again....
Hi all,
In the continuing process of dealing with the upgrades to Mozilla under
RH 8.0 Linux (present stable release is 1.3) and as a result, the
"breakage" of R's help.start() function, which is a java applet based
search engine, I wanted to point out to folks some key points of
information.
If you are upgrading to Mozilla version 1.3 under RH 8.0 from an older
version, even

Fedora 10, R and yes...help.start()...deja vu all over again...
Hi all,
I installed F10 Final today. This was a clean install, not an upgrade
from F9.
Kudos the the Fedora team as the level of maturity noted in the install
process, including using encrypted partitions, keeps getting better with
each release. I'd still like to see easier options in the GUI with
respect to selecting entire groups of applications, rather than having

load balancers and mongrel
We have a load balancer sending requests to one of X boxes and one of
N mongrel processes on that box.
Since each mongrel processes is multi-threaded but it has a mutex
around the section that calls rails, we end up with several requests
queued up waiting when they could have gone to another box with a
free process.
For example, boxA, and boxB.
boxA has mongrels 1 through 10
boxB has

Best practice Ruby on Rails on Windows configuration
Hi,
I have read many articles on the net today about configuring Ruby on Rails
on a Windows server. But there doesn''t seem to a one solution for all on how
to configure a new Ruby on Rails server. So I can use some advise with this.
I am using a Windows 2003 server and don''t get many request a day. But most
of the request are quite heavy. The main focus is on optimizing the

SQL user_query question
Hi,
I am working through setting up a virtual hosting system using
Dovecot, Postfix and Postgres on a CentOS 5 box running an install of
the dovecot-1.0-1.2.rc15.el5 RPM.
The question I have is, given this password_query SELECT clause, which
all return valid values from the database:
user
password
domain
can I use a %d in the WHERE clause of my user_query? The reason I ask
is that the

ldapsam:trusted = yes : trouble getting it to work
I have been trying for a while now to enable set the parameter ?ldapsam:trusted? to ?yes? in smb.conf but as soon as I enable it, users cannot access shares anymore. I am trying to enable this because the users are member of a lot of groups and I want to take the stress off the ldap server. I have searched the lists for previous posts with the same problem and I tried to figure out if it has been

I figured that someone reading this list might want to take a look at
the proceeding, considering that the version of Snort in FreeBSD ports

Tinc invite options
Dear All,
We are trying the Tinc invites to let nodes join the network.
This is working as described but we want to push some configuration for
some nodes but this seemed not to be working.
What is working is the following invite:
Name = test_invite
NetName = test_VPN
ConnectTo = test_hub01
Ifconfig = 172.16.1.4/24
Subnet = 172.16.1.4
