Corrections for Solaris stuff in manual
There are a number of errors in the R manual about Solaris.

2) "(Recent Sun machines are Opterons (?amd64?) rather than ?x86?, but 32-bit

That's incorrect. All recent Sun workstations used *Intel* CPUs -

2.2.25 dumps core with "Panic: file imap-client.c: line 837 (client_check_command_hangs): assertion failed: (client->io != NULL)"
Hello Timo,
from the maintainer of the OpenCSW package I got the below answer.
As the newly build package yields another different commit hash (which I
cannot find on GitHub too), I would ask, if you are sure that the commit
hash-output in 'doveconf -n' is generated correctly?
The headline of 'doveconf -n' with the newly build package is
# 2.2.25 (68082dc):

Maximum zfs send/receive throughput
It seems we are hitting a boundary with zfs send/receive over a network
link (10Gb/s). We can see peak values of up to 150MB/s, but on average
about 40-50MB/s are replicated. This is far away from the bandwidth that
a 10Gb link can offer.
Is it possible, that ZFS is giving replication a too low
priority/throttling it too much?

blastwave.rb patch
The original blastwave.rb would store "no pkg-get in /usr/sbin /usr/
bin" into @@pkgget if pkg-get is not found in the PATH.
The patch below modifies blastwave.rb to store the first matching
binary in the user''s PATH, or if not found, check the default
location (puppetd''s PATH may not be sane) and if still not present
and executable, correctly store as nil.

mutex.tdb locking errors on Solaris 10
Hi,
We are experiencing a problem with Samba 3.6.4 on Solaris 10 update 10. This problem has only recently started since an upgrade to v3.6.3 and was still present after rebuilding to 3.6.4. We are using the version of samba packaged by OpenCSW.

Funds for OpenSSH from Solaris and OpenSolaris users at Blastwave
Dear OpenSSH friends :
The Blastwave.org project is focused on providing quality open
source software to Solaris and OpenSolaris users. Please know that
your software is valued and one of the very first software packages to
be offered by Blastwave well over 3 years ago. I have personally
scraped together $100 for you but don't know where to put it yet. You

version 2.2.6 breaks compiling on Solaris 10 sparc
Hello,
I maintain the dovecot package at opencsw.org. The latest release of
dovecot verison 2.2.6 has some changes to lib-http which is breaking
compiling on Solaris 10 sparc (though x86 builds successfully). Here is
part of the compiler output while building:
libtool: compile: /opt/SUNWspro/bin/cc -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I../..

proposed new doco for "Gluster 3.1: Installing GlusterFS on OpenSolaris"
Hi all
Reference: http://support.zresearch.com/community/documentation/index.php/Gluster_3.1:_Installing_GlusterFS_on_OpenSolaris
I have found this guide to be too brief/terse, and have endeavoured to improve it via more of a recipie/howto approach - and possibly misunderstood the intent of the brief directions in the process.
Please advise if there are any errors?

Downgrade TDB files?
Hi.
I've tried Samba 3.4.3 and it upgraded my passdb.tdb file. After testing
I concluded that I'm not going to upgrade to 3.4.3 yet, because 'getent
passwd' was broken in recent BlastWave Solaris packages:
http://wiki.blastwave.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=447&start=0
Now, after I downgraded the Samba back to 3.0.32, client connections
started to malfunction. I saw

Still stuck with Samba on Solaris 10
I was hoping someone could post, or point me to, a clear set of instructions
for compiling Samba 3.5.3 (or even 3.4.8) on Solaris 10. Or even just
confirmation that Solaris 3.5.3 really can compile on Solaris 10 with active
directory, nsswitch and zfs support. (I notice that Samba and Blastwave
versions of Samba 3.4.x do not include zfs and nsswitch support.)
I have a consistent issue that I

no network interfaces found on OpenIndiana (Illumos)
Hi,
I've downloaded the samba 3.6.12 OpenCSW package.
I joined openindiana to the the active directory, winbind seems to
work fine, I see all the users with "wbinfo -u".
However, my samba server is not starting. It seems that there is no
network card found.

Samba 3.2.0 doesn't compile under Solaris8
Dear All,
Yesterday I downloaded the latest Samba release 3.2.0 and tried to compile
it against blastwave.org packages, as I always do. But it fails with error:

Building R on Solaris
This comes up on R-help from time to time, so I am putting this message in
the archives that may be helpful to refer back to.
We have just got a brand-new Sun Solaris 10 box: this is a Sparc server to
be the first of a clustered pair (our file/mail server), and we will also
be buying an Opteron server.
The good news is that things worked very smoothly with Solaris 10.
The bad news is that

RE: Compile problem
I am a package maintainer for the Solaris community site known as CSW or
blastwave.org. A CSW user requested a dovecot package, so I am attempting to
build the package.
I downloaded 0.99.10.4 earlier this month and it compiles just fine on my test
machine. I went to our CSW build machines to build a version that I can
distribute. I got the latest CVS version and used the same environment

2.7.18 available for Solaris in CSW repo
Just rolled, so it''s in my experimental area at the mo. I''m just about to
test it, others please feel free to do so too.

Once I''ve confirmed it''s OK I''ll push to the main catalog. You might like
to hang on for that event.

Exit Codes on Reverse Tunnel bug?
I ran the following command to create a reverse tunnel from another server back to my local host
ssh -4xnT -o PreferredAuthentications=publickey -o ConnectTimeout=10 -o BatchMode=yes -f \
-o ExitOnForwardFailure=yes -N -R myTargetHost:2525:myLocalHost:25 myUser at myTargetHost
and on machine=myTargetHost, the port 2525 was already being utilized, so it gave me this error and exited:

any plans to support pkgutil?
Seems that blastwave is all about pkgutil now. Are there any plans to
support this?

Samba 3.6 problems with idmap rid
Hi!
I am using mainly Samba 3.5 on CentOS, and I was very pleased with
idmap_rid backend for SID-to-RID mappings.
But on Solaris 10, I can only use 3.6 because OpenCSW ships only 3.6.
Problem is, things are changed and are not working as expected...
Here is my config on RHEL Samba 3.5:
[global]
workgroup = WINDOMAIN
realm = WINDOMAIN.LOCAL
server string = localserver
