Error in namespaceExport(ns, exports) :
Dear all, I get the error "Error in namespaceExport(ns, exports) : undefined exports function1 , function2" when compiling or even when I roxygen my package. The two function I once had in my package but I deleted them including their .Rd files. I also can't find them in any other function or help file. So does anybody know where these functions are still listed that causes

non portable filenames
I am including an external piece of software in an R package. This software ships with its own configure script generated by autoconf/automake, and this script is being run as part of the package configure script. The package contains a file m4/lt~obsolete.m4 which - as far as I can see - is a standard file from the autoconf/automake/m4 suite of programs. A warning is generated with R CMD

Matrix does not build with R trunk since Oct.
Somebody else had written separately about this before, and so have I a couple of months ago. I assumed this will be fixed before the next R. Since R 3.0 is supposedly only 6 weeks away, even if it is fixed now it doesn't leave much room for testing. Anyway neither Matrix 1.0-11 (current) nor 1.0-9 (sept 2012) build with current R trunk. The last time it did was 1. 0-9 on 3rd october over

Cryptic error message from namespaceExport
Dear all, Today I got this error message (R 3.6.1) when installing my package: Error: package or namespace load failed for ?inlatools? in namespaceExport(ns, exports): undefined exports: .__C__inla My package was using setOldClass("inla") and exported the "inla" class via the NAMESPACE. It imports functions from the INLA package. Older versions of the INLA package did not

Namespace in packages
Hello, I wonder how I might create a package that only reveals some of the function in the package to the user. I've tried creating an R package using the following: f <- function(x,y) x+y g <- function(x,y) x-y h <- function(x,y) f(x,y)*g(x,y) package.skeleton(list=c("f","g","h"), name="mypkg") and would like only h() to be available when I

Build from Source fails on Loading required package Matrix
Hello: I am building R 2.15.1 from source on a Windows 7 machine with the x64 toolset, MixTeX, and InnoSetup per http://cran.r-project.org/bin/windows/Rtools/. I obtained the source for 2.15.1 via svn from https://svn.r-project.org/R/branches/R-2-15-branch/. This is my first try building R from source. The build seems to go far, then terminates with "undefined exports: .M.classEnv" from

Fishy error with NAMESPACE when checking package
I am updating the Epi package. I added functions named pc.points and pc.matpoints. Erroneously I wrote pc.plot and pc.matplot in the NAMESPACE file and of course got an error from Rcmd check. So I corrected the NAMESPACE file, but I still get from r-check: * install options are ' --no-html' Loading required package: utils Error in namespaceExport(ns, exports) : undefined exports:

fudging filename characters
There are a couple of bug reports on the Debian rsync package about problems with a recipient filesystem that can't cope with all possible unix filenames. Notably filenames with question marks are a problem... I guess that people are trying to backup systems to a SMB share which presumably is then regularly backupped to tape. This basically sounds like a reasonable thing to do :-) Would

rsync, windows/cygwin and special characters in filenames
Hello, I'm using cygwin and rsync in my windows-equipped laptop to synchronize work and other documents between my file server (Linux RH 9) and laptop. As I'm Finnish, many of the transferred files have special characters ?,?,? (A-umlaut etc) in the filenames. I noticed that when the files are synced from the server to my windows box, the rsync translates the special characters to

scp, sftp, and special characters in filenames
I have not been able to get scp(1) to download a file with a newline in its name. I know that scp(1) requires that remote filenames be escaped for the shell, but that leads to protocol errors. I am also unable to get sftp(1) to handle such files. It fails with an ?unterminated quoted argument? error, no matter how I try to quote the newline. Furthermore, the SFTP CLI is not well-suited to

Special Characters in Filenames -> rsync error code 24, files vanished
Hello, there are problems syncing files with special charcters in the filename. The special characters in the filename are displayed as a question mark. During synchronization, the rsync tells the file is vanished. Here is the standard output with level 1 verbosity. Higher verbosity levels dont give more informations about the problem. The stat command with this file succeed. file has vanished:

I see, nesting will not work. Sorry. BTW Haro, Thanks for the perl script. If I get time I will pay around with that.. John

How to handle special characters in filenames
Hi, I'm using samba 3.0.21 on a FC 4 box. I'm connecting to Win XP pro clients. Using smbclient I can get and put files which contain '%' in file names. Using libsmbclient smbc_open this is not possible. I get 'No such file or directory Errno::ENOENT' error. Any ideas how to solve this. I guess it has to do with escaping special characters in smb urls but I

package check fail on Windows-release only?
I mistakenly left a write in "/tmp" in the rockchalk package (version 1.8.109) that I uploaded last Friday. Kurt H wrote and asked me to fix today. While uploading a new one, I became aware of a problem I had not seen. The version I uploaded last Friday, 1.8.109, has OK status on all platforms except r-release-windows-ix86+x86_64. I get OK on oldrel-windows and also on devel-windows.

Filenames with "special" characters (äöü€¶) on SMB share of Linkstation HD-HLAN250
Hello! I've got a Buffalo Linkstation HD-HLAN250. This is a consumer NAS device, which makes the built-in HD accessible via SMB and FTP. On that system, some sort of Linux with some sort of Samba is running. I'm now trying to create filenames with special characters (ie. non-ASCII chars) in it. For example "bl?der name" (means "stupid name"). To get access to the
