message box
Hi,
I need some help figuring out how to make a pop-up message box appear with
error messages when running a script using Rterm. Windows XP R2.10.1
...possibly with the ability to either continue or abort the script?
Thanks.

Gui immediately closes when started from command-line
Hello,
I want to run an r script that contains code for a gui (rgtk) on the command
line (windows 2000, 32 bits) using R2.10.1, but the Gui disappears a few
miliseconds after I started the program. What switch should I use to prevent
this? I tried r.exe, rterm.exe and rscript.exe with various combinations of
switches, but none of them works.
TIA
Cheers!!

reshape::cast: invalid 'yinds' argument
Hi,
I'm using reshape to cast molten data. When I use the following command, R
either crashes (when I use Notepad++) or gives an error (when I use Rgui or
source()), BUT the error occurs not always, maybe only on half the attempts:
w <- cast(v, id + code + productname + year + begin + end + specificDesc +
specificDesc2 ~ type)

mob (party package) question
Dear useRs:
I try to use mob from the party package (thanks Achim and Co.!) to model
based recursive partition a data set. The model is a logistic regression
specified with model=glinearModel and family=binomial(). Running mob
results in a few warnings of the type: In glm.fit ... algorithm did not
converge. As I speculate that this may be due to an insufficient number of
iterations I am

MAC R crashes
Dear R-Help Group:
R will not start on my imac running 10.6.2. I installed both R2.10.1 and
2.10.0 from pkg. It crashed on both. I tried both the R and R64 apps and
both versions 2.10.1 and 2.10.0. I googled and found nothing on this.
Below is part of report:

question about libvirt network Xml
Hi,
I’m an openstack developer trying to use
Assignment from a pool of SRIOV VFs in a libvirt <network> definition
from this link http://wiki.libvirt.org/page/Networking
My question is is it possible for nova (the openstack compute) to know which VF out of the pool will be allocated to a VM before it invokes libvirt to launch it?
Thanks In advance,
Robert

Rgui.exe cannot be set as default program under Vista wtih R2.10.1
Dear moderators,
when I installed the latest version of R (R2.10.1) under Microsoft Vista (service pack 2), I ran into problems associating Rgui.exe with .RData files. On doubleckicking such files in explorer, they open in a Rterm window. Trying to associate Rgui.exe with the Rdata files via control panel / default programs does not work - Rgui is not added to the list of recommended programs. I

fprintf(fid,' \n');
fprintf(fid,' h is %2i',h);
fprintf(fid,' \n');
fprintf(fid,' group=0

write.table read.table with Dates
I've found several similar issues with write.table/read.table
with Dates on this list, but trying to follow this advice I still
get an error.
First, I read in data from several files, constructing several date/time
columns using ISOdatetime

SETAR and nonlinear model estimation
I am currently doing a research paper that requires the estimation of a thereshold model. I have gone through the reference manual for the pacjage "tsdyn" and i am failing to see how the the threshold models provided by R can estimate a model in which the other control variables exist or are included in the estiamtion of the model.
Any help provided will be greatly appreciated

Incoming 800-number over IAX - first few words are cut-off
I have an incoming 800-number over IAX from Teliax and I'm experiencing
the large packet loss on connection.
When a call comes in there is no ring tone and the first few words of
the welcome message are cut off, regardless of the delay I set.
Standard call (not 800-number) coming over IAX with the same provider
works just fine only the tall free number.
So it seems there are some packet loss

lustre on debian
Since in Linux we are mostly a debian shop we''d like to stick with
debian for our calculation nodes if possible.
So I wanted to ask the lustre 2.2 instructions for Debian are they
more or less relevant to lustre 2.4/2.5 or am I going headlong into a
tall brick wall.
Also are newer clients backwards compatible with older server
software? I am currently just setting up a demo environment

Average of a variable against another.
Dear helpers,
FYI, I am a beginner of R, just have dealt with MATLAB or JAVA.
I want to know how to solve one problem given 4 variables: year_1, year_2,
tall_1, tall_2.
The tall_1 is measured at year_1 and tall_2 at year_2.
The tall has grown up such as uniformly 1 cm/yr.
The data is like
year_1 year_2 tall_1 tall_2

Can scaffold do tall tables instead of wide?
I''m trying to get data in rows instead of columns by default.
The default scaffold behavior is to create an initial table layout with
column headers along the top. In some cases this creates really wide
tables which require horizontal scrolling. Is there a parameter I can
use with scaffolding or a hack to get the header cells along the left
side of the table instead?

color by group in ggplot
Hey,
I have a dataset like this:
ID Var1 Var2 Group
A1 1 1 BB
A2 1 2 AA
B1 2 1 CC
B2 1 3 DD
C1 1 2 EE
I would like to plot the points of Var1 and Var2, use "ID" as X-axis, but
color the points by "Group". I can
