Posix Problem, difftime
I am having a series of problems using date time data that has been converted into a POSIXt and POSIXlt classes. I have hourly time series data from 1900 that has been converted from text data.
I assume most of my problems come from a mis-underdanding of the POSIX class. My matrix named (aa) for this year is approx 8700 by 4. When I try to calculate the length of posit column ( which is the

match problem by rownames
Hi all,
While dat['a1',] and dat['a10',] produce the same results in the
following example, I'd like dat['a1',] to return NAs.
dat <- data.frame(x1 = paste(letters[1:5],10, sep=''), x2=rnorm(5))
rownames(dat) <- dat$x1
dat['a1',]

tcltk freezing using MS Windows for R-2.14+
I am the maintainer of a Bioconductor package (affylmGUI) which uses
tcltk. It freezes inconsistently on MS Windows, but not Mac or Unix. see
details below.
After considerable testing I have reduced the problem from a few
thousand lines of code to 30 lines!
If you paste the following lines of code into an R window:
testGUI <- function(){
require(tcltk)

I run R on MS Windows. In R2.9.0dev, I type ?base to get "R help for package

a sentence:

R difftime function: How can we fix the difftime unit?
Hi,
I am trying to take difference of two time objects. I want to fix the
result's unit to minutes. How can I do that?
Here is an example:

Time difference of 2.030720 hours

y = '2007-03-05 06:31:07'
and z = '2007-03-05 08:02:37'

I wonder if I could get advice on the above problem

bnlearn and cpquery
Hi all
I have built a Bayesian network using discrete data using the bnlearn
package.
When I try to run the cpquery function on this data it returns NaN for some
some cases.
Running the cpquery in debug mode for such a case (n=10^5, method="lw")
creates the following output:
generated a grand total of 1e+05 samples.

makeCluster Stall on 32-bit Windows
Good day,
I'm trying the example cl <- makeCluster(2, type = "SOCK") from the makeCluster documentation and the R command prompt never returns. I am using a 32-bit Windows 10 computer. The problem doesn't happen on another 64-bit Windows 10 computer but does happen on another 32-bit Windows 7 computer. Can anyone reproduce it? Are there any other options that can be passed to

R-devel Digest, Vol 100, Issue 28
I get the same style of path as Hadley. This is on Windows 7 Home Premium with SP1.
I start R by clicking on the R-2.31.0 icon.
I'd assumed that it was a change that came with R-2.13.0!
(On 32-bit Windows XP, which I have just checked, I do indeed get the 8.3 paths.)

R CMD SHLIB changes function name when compiling
Hi,
I'm trying to write a function in C for implementation with .Call. When
compiling using R CMD SHLIB characters seem to be added to the function
name.
Here's the complete C code from the file summariseMCMC.c:
#include<R.h>
#include<Rdefines.h>
#include<Rinternals.h>
void summariseMCMC(SEXP data) {
PROTECT(data=AS_NUMERIC(data));
UNPROTECT(1);
}
