(PR#14226) -- Re: libgfortran misplaced in Mac OS X R install (PR#14226)
I am the guy who compiles the OpenMx binaries. We would be delighted to place our package on CRAN, once the project is stable enough so that we are comfortable releasing it to the larger public. Let's try to track down where I made a mistake. Our Makevars.in file contains the line: PKG_LIBS=$(FLIBS) $(BLAS_LIBS) $(LAPACK_LIBS) In addition, on the build machine I noticed that a copy of

BLAS benchmarks on R 2.12.0
Hi, I saw on the mailing list and in the NEWS file that some unsafe math transformations were disabled for the reference BLAS implementation that is used in R. We have a set of performance tests for the OpenMx library, and some of the tests have a x3-10 slowdown in R 2.12.0 versus 2.11.1. When I copy the shared library libRblas.0.dylib from the 2.11.1 installation into the 2.12.0 installation,

NOT an R problem: cannot install packages from distant repository
I met today a computer crash and our maintenance officer had to reinstall some components of the OS (MS Windows XP Pro) as well as the Internet browser (among other things). Now, I cannot install packages from a distant repository: > utils:::menuInstallPkgs() Error in .readRDS(pfile) : unknown input format > traceback() 5: .readRDS(pfile) 4: .packages(all.available = TRUE) 3:

Problems installing packages using the inbuilt facility: "Error i n gzfile(file, "r") : unable to open connection"
Hi I have been trawling the web, FAQs, and R manuals for help on the following issue, but have failed and was wondering if anyone has a solution to the following problem: After having installed R 2.6.2 for Windows (binary), I tried to install various packages. Every time I try loading a package (any package) via the built-in menu, I run into the following error message. >

Profiling function that contains both C++ and Fortran Code
Hello, I am trying to profile a function of OpenMx (http://openmx.psyc.virginia.edu) for CPU time. My operating system is OS X 10.10. OpenMx contains C++ and Fortran code. I have read the section regarding profiling compiled code in the manual (https://cran.r-project.org/doc/manuals/r-release/R-exts.html#Profiling-compiled-code). This section and this post (http://blog.fellstat.com/?p=337)

FIML in R
Does anyone know if someone is developing full-information maximum likelihood (FIML) estimation algorithms for basic regression functions, like glm()? I think that having FIML options for workhorse functions that typically use ML would give R an edge over other statistical software, given how well FIML performs in missing data situations compared to ML. While my current level of programming

structural equation modeling
Dear R-help, I am interested in using structural equation modeling. Just getting started with it, but I'm looking for suggestions for packages. As an aside, what's the best way for looking for packages at CRAN? -- Robert Terwilliger Biomedical Physicist Laboratory of Neurocognitive Development Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Loeffler

multivariate modeling codes
HI, I am relatively new to R and would appreciate some help or directions for this. I am trying to model 3 longitudinal outcomes jointly and to identify some predictors for these 3 joint outcomes (all continuous). I am trying to find some codes that I may modify to do this but cannot seem to find anything. -- View this message in context:

Two R editiosn in Unix cluster systems
Dear R Devel Some of our R users are still insisting we run R-2.15.3 because of difficulties with a package called OpenMX. It can't cooperate with new R, oh well. Other users need to run R-3.0.1. I'm looking for the most direct route to install both, and allow users to choose at runtime. In the cluster, things run faster if I install RPMs to each node, rather than putting R itself on

Hi! As per Thomas' advice, I upgraded R by using "update.packages()" and got the following warning messages: Warning messages: 1: installation of package 'lmtest' had non-zero exit status in: install.packages(update[, "Package"], instlib, contriburl = contriburl, 2: installation of package 'quadprog' had non-zero exit status in: install.packages(update[,

local source packages install from within R session - cross-platform
I realize that others have struggled with this issue...i.e. http://tolstoy.newcastle.edu.au/~rking/R/help/05/01/9826.html i am on os.x 10.4 w/ R2.2, and am (perhaps foolishly) also on this quest... i would like to be able to install downloaded source (tar.gz'd) files from within an R session, and have it work in a X-platform way..i am often not connected to the internet and have libraries

install.packages question / suggestion
Hello, when trying to write an R-file, which automatically installs and updates a given list of packages, I had two problems with install.packages() 1) install.packages("<package>") will install <package>, no matter if <package> has already been installed. 2) the readline() at the end of install.packages, which asks the user, if the downloaded files should be

update.packages() as ordinary user, /usr/lib/R/site-library is not writable
I am moving from windoze on a Dell laptop to Debian but I seem to have hit a snag for R. I managed to find the information to point an /etc/apt/sources.list entry at my local CRAN repository and have installed R 2.13.1 for squeeze from the Bristol UK repository. I installed a number of the additional R packages using synaptic which reported no errors but when I run my first
