Rjava, RImageJ, and/or S4 question.
I am out of my league with this question. The following code starts the java imaging program ImageJ from within R, and displays an image (assuming ImageJ is installed on your computer).
library(RImageJ)
img <- IJ$openImage( file.choose() ) #pick an available .tif file
img$show() # make the image object visible
# An image is now displayed
# find out about the objects involved

problem packaging S4 class that contains a slot of jobjRef class
Hello,
I'm trying to package some source files that link R to a broker using
a Java API and the rJava package. I am successful doing the connection
and operate on it using my R code. I would like to package the files and
release the package.
I created some S4 classes to hold several Java objects. I use WinXP and R
2.7.1. I've searched RSeek and the Wiki for help, but could not find a

S4SXP type vs S4 object bit?
I'm trying to understand the R internals a bit better and reading over the
documentation.
I see that there is a bit related to whether an object is S4
(S4_OBJECT_MASK), and also the object type S4SXP (25). The documentation
makes clear that these two things aren't the same.
But in practice, will the S4-bit and object type ever disagree for S4
objects? I know that one can set the bit

Handle RAWSXP in inspect.c:typename()
Hi all
I had written a gdb macro to dump the string representation of an SEXPREC
type when I realised everything I needed was in inspect.c already in the
typename() function. However, the typename function doesnt handle the RAWSXP
type, so if possible, could the following patch be applied (I've just put in
inline as it is a trivial 1-liner)?

Exportar datos en formato de Excel
Hola.
En mi caso, no he podido resolver los problemas con el Java para usar
XLConnect, que en los papeles me parece el mejor. Supongo que algo de la
arquitectura del sistema o bien de la relación entre el Java, el R y el
RStudio.
Así que utilizo

for in r-devel
Regarding, this news item for r-devel:
?for()? loops are generalized to iterate over any object with ?[[? and
?length()? methods. Thanks to Herv? Pag?s for the idea and the patch.
Below dd is an object for which [[ and length work but the result is
still numeric rather than Date class in "R Under development

[LLVMdev] Iterator protocols
This is related to the general question of efficiency of unwinds. I'm
mulling over whether to use the Java-style or Python-style iterator
protocol for my language. The Python style is to have a special
exception (StopIteration) that is thrown when the end of the sequence is
reached. The Java style is to have a separate "hasNext" method on the
iterator object that says whether or

S4SXP type vs S4 object bit?
Hi Travers,
Just an additional remarks to Michael's answer, if your S4 class inherits
from R's basic types, say integer, the resulting object will be an INTSXP.
If your S4 class does not inherit from any class, it will be an S4SXP. You
can think about this question from the object-oriented framework: If one
class inherits the integer class, what should R do to make all the integer
related

Should slot<-() alter its first argument?
We noticed that the slot<- function alters its first argument, which goes
against the grain of a functional language. The similar @<- does not
change its first argument. Is this intended? The timeSeries and distr
package depend on this altering.

Java Problems
Hi. This post follows on from:

And is possibly related to the bug referenced here:

In summary: Java processes are doing odd things.
