shlib problems with Intel compiler
Hi Martyn, Thanks for your insight, that seems pretty direct. Unfortunately, I did not compile this version of R (it's on a large supercomputer system and this version of R was installed by the admins). Using "R CMD config", I see the following relevant settings: DYLIB_LD = icc -std=gnu99 DYLIB_LDFLAGS = -shared -openmp LDFLAGS = -L/opt/compilers/intel/cce/9.1.039/lib

shlib problems with Intel compiler
Hi, I'm encountering trouble compiling caTools_1.17.1.tar.gz and e1071_1.6-4.tar.gz on a Linux system using the Intel compiler suite. 14 other packages I generally use installed without any trouble. I notice both of these trouble packages have a C++ component, so I wonder if that might be the issue. Below, there's information on my platform, compiler, and some diagnostic output showing

Lower-case filenames on receiver side
Hi everybody, i've been using rsync for quite some time to sync files between my laptop and my desktop for example i use the following to backup the music library (from Mac to Linux) > rsync -rvzu --exclude=.DS_Store --delete --exclude 'Podcasts/*' > $LOCAL_MUSI $REMOTE_MUSIC >> $LOGFILE An odd thing i always noticed is that some files were always copied, even

e1071, R1.9.0, Solaris 2.9, should I be worried?
In R 1.9.0 running under Solaris 2.9 on a SunBlade 100, with "Sun WorkShop 6 update 2 C++ 5.3 2001/05/15" as the C++ compiler, I just did > install.packages("e1071") The output includes these lines, which I have wrapped to fit nicely in mail: ** libs cc -I/users/local/lib/R/include -I/usr/local/include -KPIC -xlibmil \ -dalign -xO4 -c cmeans.c -o cmeans.o cc

Hi folks, I always wondered why there is no "metaflac --show-all-tags", in parallel to --remove-all-tags. Attached you can find a patch for your consideration. [LLVMdev] building for sparc-sun-solaris2.10
I am trying to do some research that involves instrumenting LLVM IR, that I need to test for performance and scalability on a bunch of systems. I've started trying by trying to get sparc-sun-solaris2.10 (niagara) working. It appears that neither llvm nor llvm-gcc will build natively on the system, so I think that I need to build an llvm-gcc cross compiler. The documentation for building

I'm just in the process of upgrading from nut-2.4.1 to 2.4.3 on a dual-Xeon box running Solaris 10 amd64 (i686-pc-solaris2.10). [LLVMdev] Compiling llvm and Clang in solaris 10
Norm, thanks for the help. Applying the fix solves the issue I mentioned but now I have more issues. I can install clang, but when running I cannot compile and link files. If I compile with -c flag it works but compiling the following x.c file gives an error: x.c: int main(void) { return 0; } > ./clang x.c /project/helder/scratch/packages2/bin/ld: unrecognized option '-C'

compiling R-2.10.0 on solaris - lib_I_dbg_gen.so.1: version `DBG_GEN_5.1' not found
Hi, I'm having trouble compiling R-2.10.0 (R-patched_2009-11-02.tar.gz) on solaris 10 and am hoping for some advice. I'm getting errors about having the wrong version of lib_I_dbg_gen.so.1 ("version `DBG_GEN_5.1' not found"), when it gets to the step of compiling recommended packages (cluster). I think we do have the right version of lib_I_dbg_gen.so.1 on the
