Dear List.... sorry to bother you R-gurus with such an "unstatistical" question... but I face a problem using Crimson Editor with R 2.01.1 that I never had using R 2.00.1. I already posted on the Crimson Editor forum but it seems to be VERY few R-users there.... I successfully used R v2.00.1until now (under Windows XP professionnal, version 2002, Service Pack 2, P4 processor CPU 1.8

pass character vector in instrument field of get.hist.quote function
I am new to R so I apologize if my question is trivial. I have not been able to figure out whether what I want to do is even possible. I have a data frame of stock ticker symbols which I store into R space from a txt file as follows: tickers <- read.csv("stocks.txt", header=FALSE, sep=",") tickers <- tickers[1] / the tickers are stored in the first column >

Samba 3.6.0: unable to list Active Directoy users "WBC_ERR_DOMAIN_NOT_FOUND"
I am also experiencing the same problems. I am running 3.6 on AIX 6.1. I do have a 3.5.8 installation running without problem (I understand some major changes have happened.) I took the smb.conf from my 3.5.8 install and changed appropriately for 3.6 (At least as far as I catell). I followed the steps Michael posted on the bug report. /usr/local/samba/bin/wbinfo -t checking the trust secret

Problems Authetincating users by group in Active Directoy
Hi, I got a Samba box that is part of an Active Directory. It is working with the most basic functions, but I want to start customizing the security a little bit more. For that I want to grant access to different shares by group using "valid users = @AD+group" in the smb.conf, but hasn't worked. I increased the verbosity of the log files and this has caught my attention:

Creating a graphics window (in Windows, with RGui) that is not constrained to the RGui Window
Hi, all, Using RGui, is it possible to create a graphics window that can be moved outside of the RGui window? (This can be done--in fact must be done--using Rterm, but I wish to use RGui.) My interest for this is to use two monitors: in "my private monitor" I wish to execute R code in the Rgui window; in "the public monitor" I want the audience to see the results in the

A bug (?) in Rgui Configuration Editor (buffer lines) in R1.2.0 for Windows (Rgui.exe)
Dear R users: Today (December 18th) I downloaded R1.2.0 for Windows from ftp://ftp.stat.unipd.it/users/guido/RWin and then invoked its Rgui.exe to change its gui configuration. After I set new values in Rgui configuration Editor frame and saved the set of new parameters as a "Rconsole" file, then I re-started Rgui and R issued an error message concerning the buffer-line-value in the

How to create a directoy with R
Hello, I am trying to create directories with R. I would like R to create directories because it is platform independent. I tried using file() and searching in "R Data Import/Export" but I did not succeed. I think it must be some function since exists the unlink to remove directories (and files). Pau

Samba on AIX - Active directory
On the IBM web site they have version 4.3.8. I have not tested this IBM package as yet. Another site that has compiled versions of samba is http://www.bullfreeware.com/ I do not know if the packages on this site have been compiled with AD support or as AD-DC's. You can use smbd -b to find out what configure options samba was built with. I used to do my own compilation/builds of samba but I
