Errors on Windows with grep(fixed=TRUE) on UTF-8 strings
On Windows, grep(fixed=TRUE) throws errors with some UTF-8 strings. Here's an example (must be run on Windows to reproduce the error): Sys.setlocale("LC_CTYPE", "chinese") y <- rawToChar(as.raw(c(0xe6, 0xb8, 0x97))) Encoding(y) <- "UTF-8" y # [1] "?" grep("\n", y, fixed = TRUE) # Error in grep("\n", y, fixed = TRUE) : invalid

Call for testing: OpenSSH-5.6
Hi, OpenSSH 5.6 is almost ready for release, so we would appreciate testing on as many platforms and systems as possible. This is a moderately large release, with a number of new features and bug fixes. Snapshot releases for portable OpenSSH are available from http://www.mindrot.org/openssh_snap/ The OpenBSD version is available in CVS HEAD: http://www.openbsd.org/anoncvs.html Portable OpenSSH

read.table problem on Linux/Alpha (seg faults caused by isspace(R_EOF)) (PR#303)
Full_Name: Naoki Takebayashi Version: 0.65.1 OS: Linux/Alpha Submission from: (NULL) (129.79.224.171) When I was reading a file with read.table("junk.data"), it seg-faulted. I found out that it seg-faulted when the last line of data file didn't have the newline char. For example, file like this: 23 3 31 2 24 1<EOF> Here is a fix. --- R-0.65.1/src/main/scan.c.orig

isspace() and other ctype.h functions
Hm, finally subscribed here, forgot to... Anyway, I'm using klibc in udev and have added some needed functions (like ftruncate and vsyslog). Should I post the patches here before commiting them to the cvs tree? Also, it looks like ctype.h has a off-by-one bug. isspace(' ') returns 0 right now, but if you change the function from: __ctype_inline int isspace(int __c) { return

postindexed load/store
hello, I read that you do implement these operations in your backend some time ago. (http://llvm.1065342.n5.nabble.com/llvm-dev-Questions-about-load-store-incrementing-address-modes-td87577.html). The DAGCombiner::CombineToPostIndexedLoadStore(SDNode *N) function never works for me. Can you show me a code fragment in C which is translated into pre/post dec/inc load/store? Then I will be able to

rosh patch V2
Here is a second version of my patch from last night. It uses the provided ctype function isspace and does the same readdir(). I remove the rosh_issp() function. I admit to being a bit liberal with my use of braces and spaces. We all of the habit of knowing we can invent a more perfect wheel. Let me know if you have any questions. Non-standard conformant usage of ctype functions
Hi, Per the definitions of the ctype functions in POSIX-1.2008 "the c argument is an int, the value of which the application shall ensure is a character representable as an unsigned char or equal to the value of the macro EOF. If the argument has any other value, the behavior is undefined." For obvious reasons this results in problems if you use signed char variables as parameters in

smbclient's tar_re_search broken?
Hi all, My old and stable backup script don't work anymore. It's based on smbclient's tar command using crX parameters for creating archive, excluding files based on basic regular expressions. The box is running Fedora core 2, fully updated: kernel-2.6.8-1.521 samba-common-3.0.7-2.FC2 samba-client-3.0.7-2.FC2 The error is easily reproducible: smbclient //ntpdc/share -A credfile \ -c

Split String in regex while Keeping Delimiter
Dear Emily, Using a look-behind solves the split problem in this case. (Note: Using Regex is in most/many cases the simplest solution.) str = c("leucocyten + gramnegatieve staven +++ grampositieve staven ++", "leucocyten ? grampositieve coccen +") tokens = strsplit(str, "(?<=[-+])\\s++", perl=TRUE) PROBLEM The current expression does NOT work for a different

[LLVMdev] "pure" functions"
Hi, say I've a LLVM module with a call instruction. The called function is "pure", that is it has no side-effects at all. How can I communicate this to LLVM, so that the function call can be removed if the return value is never used? Thanks, Volodya

[PATCH 0 of 6] Add support for a VM generation ID virtual device (v2)
The following is a revised patch series to add support for a VM generation ID virtual device for HVM guests. The basic requirements of this device are as follows: - It must be exposed somewhere in ACPI namespace with a _CID of "VM_Gen_Counter". - It must also include a _DDN of "VM_Gen_Counter". - It must contain a _HID object but no particular value is required. - It must

unset() function?
Does R have a function like the S/S++ unset() function? unset(name) would remove 'name' from the current evaluation frame and return its value. It allowed you to safely avoid some memory copying when calling .C or .Call. E.g., suppose you had C code like #include <R.h> #include <Rinternals.h> SEXP add1(SEXP pX) { int nProtected = 0; int n = Rf_length(pX);

[PATCH] fstype: Fix ext4/ext4dev probing
Enhance fstype so it properly takes into account whether or not the ext4 and/or ext4dev filesystems are present, and properly handles the test_fs flag. The old code also has some really buggy checks --- for example, where it compared the set of supported ro_compat features against the incompat feature bitmask: (sb->s_feature_incompat & __cpu_to_le32(EXT3_FEATURE_RO_COMPAT_SUPP) I
