Partykit Document
Hi All, I'm a newcomer to the R community, just started learning R. I need to use partykit for developing CART. But I'm not getting any document/help for using partykit/rpart. http://www.agrocampus-ouest.fr/math/useR-2009/slides/Hothorn+Zeileis.pdfgives some example, but it doesn't tell how my own data should be formatted so that it can be accepted by partykit. Example,

Hi everybody, as Fritz mentioned in his introducing "Google Summer of Code 2009" email, I will manage the organizational part of the R-Project application and (hopfully) participation. Google's timeline schedules March 9-13 as date for organizations to make an application as mentoring organization. The idea is now to collect as many project ideas in a brainstorming phase and submit

[SoC09-Idea] Development of crantastic.org
Hi all, Here's my idea for the google summer of code - it's a resubmission from last year. We had a couple of interested students, but their proposals weren't quite competitive enough to get funding. Regards, Hadley Summary: Create an information portal for the fast growing list of R packages, integrating package documentation and journal publications with feedback from the useR

Hi all, here's a proposal for a SoC project on wildlife movement patterns analysis. A MSc student is available to anwser the call, of course. The idea has already been briefly discussed with the mantainer of the adehabitat package and the AniMov project community. Short description Develop some add-on functions to use the adehabitat package to perform basic movement ecology analysis, in

Data mining
Hola, ¿cómo están? Soy estudiante de Ing. en Sistemas de Información y estoy cursando la materia Tecnologías para la Explotación de Datos. Me he decidido a usar R para hacer DM. Estoy recién comenzando con ambos. El asunto es que no he encontrado la implementación en R de uno de los algoritmos que dimos para árboles de decisión, ID3. Ya revisé varios de los paquetes para DM

Extract a predictors form constparty object (CHAID output) in R
I have a large dataset (questionnaire results) of mostly categorical variables. I have tested for dependency between the variables using chi-square test. There are an incomprehensible number of dependencies. I used the chaid() function in the CHAID package to detect interactions and separate out (what I hope to be) the underlying structure of these dependencies for each variable. What typically

[SoC09-Info] An IPopt interface for R
There have been several messages on R-devel mentioning the interior point optimization software Ipopt, https://projects.coin-op/Ipopt/. This C++ library is released under a license called the Common Public License. I have two questions that readers of R-devel may be able to answer. 1) Would creating an Ipopt interface for R be duplicating existing efforts? That is, has someone already done so

Seeking Code for Chaid or Similar
Quick disclaimer: I'm new to the list and I'm not sure if I'm sending this to the correct forum. If there is a better place for questions like these, please let me know! Dear R List, I'm interested in modifying a regression tree algorithm to use the difference between a control and a dosed sample as its dependent variable. I was wondering if anyone knew where I could find

mvpart versus SPSS
I have a question relating to mvpart, which I hope you can answer. We recently conducted a study using TBR. In our first study, we used "regular" TBR in SPSS to model 1 dependent variable. Note we have a relatively small data-set of 100 cases. In SPSS, we used a minimum change of improvement smaller than 0.000001 as a stopping rule. Also, we chose the 1SE "rule", set the
