Hi all, all.equal is generally very useful when you want to find the differences between two objects. Re flect Back to Back Histograms in x-axis?
I've looked long and hard for this, but maybe I am missing something... There is a nice module that displays histograms reflected in the y axis, i.e. http://addictedtor.free.fr/graphiques/RGraphGallery.php?graph=136 but is it possible to reflect in the x-axis, so to have two datasets, one pointing up and one down rather than left and right? I haven't been able to find a way to plot this

Plotting frequency curve over histogram
Hello, This is a problem for which there seem to be several solutions online, but not really. My question was about plotting a curve over the histogram. All the previous posts and messages talk about generating a *density histogram*using (freq=F) and then plotting the density curve. A primitive OO in R -- where next?

R vs SPSS contrasts
Hi Folks, I'm comparing some output from R with output from SPSS. The coefficients of the independent variables (which are all factors, each at 2 levels) are identical. However, R's Intercept (using default contr.treatment) differs from SPSS's 'constant'. I just installed R on my 64 bit SUSE Linux system -- I compiled with the default x windows support on.. This may be a newbie question (apologies in advance)-- but how does this show up in X? How hist() decides breaks?
Hi Folks, I'd like to know how hist() decides how many cells to use when it ignores my "suggestion" to use say 'hist(...,breaks=50)'. More specifically, I have the results of 10000 simulations, each returning an 8-vector, therefore 8 variables each with 10000 values. Some of these 8 have somewhat skew distributions.
