Dear all, after building the R-1.1.1 from source on our alpha everything seems to work, but locfit still hangs... I installed locfit with install.packages(...), the installation process went fine, but calling locfit() blocks the R environment. Has anybody got an idea howto get to the roots of this problem? We us it mostly to load floppy disk images to kick off OS installations. What is the best way (if possible) to pass the name of a workspace file to R when it starts so it is loaded instead of .RData ? I would like to know this for Linux and windows version.
