(PR#13283) R crashes on sprintf with bad format
But %S is not valid in C99 or POSIX, even if it is a variant in some systems. I am working on a more careful checker right now, but there will be limits to what we can catch: this was already a pretty rare example. Bug in by() with dates as levels?
Trying to use dates in their R-native form (e.g., POSIXct) rather than turning them into character strings, I've encountered the following problem. I create a data frame where one column is dates. Then I use "by()" to do a calculation on grouped subsets of the data. When I try to extract values from the result, I get "subscript out of bounds". The example below shows the

nlsrob fails with puzzling error message on input accepted by nls
I have a nonlinear model estimation problem with ~50,000 data records and a simple 3 parameter model (logistic type - please don't tell me that there are linear methods for such a problem). I run nls with constraints once to get a good initial parameter guess, then try to run nlrob to get improved estimates. The model is well-behaved for the parameters that come from nls - no huge values, NAs

help with zoo
Hi, I am interested in decomposing a time series and getting the trend, seasonal and?irregular variations, as one can get with the "stl" command. My time series is fairly regular, but it has some breaks. From the zoo manual, I gather that it should be possible to convert it to a regular time series and then fill the NA entries by interpolation. I am not able to proceed beyond a certain

hang with fsdlm
Using fsdlm/ocfs2_controld.cman, I've rerun the test I've been having problems with on 2.6.30-rc1. After running for several minutes in the same directory on three nodes, the test hangs, and I collect the following information: bull-01 ------- 3053 S< [ocfs2dc] ocfs2_downconvert_thread 3054 S< [dlm_astd] dlm_astd 3055 S< [dlm_scand]

On oVirt side, upstream is finalizing 4.1.7 release and 4.2.0 beta; Virt SIG repos will be update after the releases. The oVirt 4.2 testing repos are now live on

applying a set of rules to each row
All, I would like to apply a set of rules to each row of the sample data set below. The rule sets are the guidelines for determining an individual's date for retirement eligibility. The rules are found in this document, http://www.opm.gov/feddata/RetirementPaperFinal_v4.pdf. I am only interested in the top two categories for retirement eligibility, the CSRS and FERS plans. The data set has
