BUG: After stop and start wrong port is advertised
Hi,
This bug is hitting me hard on two different clients.
In RHGS 3.3 and on glusterfs 3.10.2 on Centos 7.4
in once case I had 59 differences in a total of 203 bricks.
I wrote a quick and dirty script to check all ports against the brick file and the running process.
#!/bin/bash
Host=`uname -n| awk -F"." '{print $1}'`
GlusterVol=`ps -eaf | grep /usr/sbin/glusterfsd|

Request: tools::md5sum should accept connections and finally in-memory objects
The tools package is not for users, it's for functions that R uses in
installing packages, checking them, etc. If you want a function for
users, it would belong in utils. But what's wrong with the digest
package? What's the argument that R Core should take this on?

Perhaps use the digest package? Isn't "R the R packages?"

I think it is clear that I am aware of the existence of the digest
package and also of other packages with similar functionality, e.g. the
fastdigest package. (And I actually do use digest as I guess 99% percent
of the R developers do at least as an indirect dependency.) The point

Request: tools::md5sum should accept connections and finally in-memory objects
AFAIK there is no hashing utility in base R which can create hash
digests of arbitrary R objects. However, as also described by Henrik
Bengtsson in [1], we have tools::md5sum() which calculates MD5 hashes of
files. Calculating hashes of in-memory objects is a very common task in
several areas, as demonstrated by the popularity of the 'digest' package
(~850.000 downloads/month).

R 1.5.1 not working with Windows NT on Virtual PC 4 (PR#1932)
Full_Name: Alexandre Da Costa
Version: 1.5.1
OS: Windows NT 4 on Virtual PC 4
Submission from: (NULL) (193.253.191.74)
I am using Virtual PC 4.0.2 for every day work.
I wanted to try connections of R 1.5.1 to Oracle DataBases.
But R is running but is not working at all !
The simple commands end with "no finite arguments" error.

flac test mode is very useful
If md5sum --check did not return an error with a truncated file, then the
file was likely broken to start with. I think the chances of a corrupted
file generating the same md5sum is close enough to 0 that you will never see
it in a life time.
Also, you lost me on storing the md5sum value at the begging and the end?

R 2.1.0 for Windows installation error? atanh not in R.dll?
Could someone please tell me what I did wrong to create this message or what I should do to correct this problem?
I downloaded 2.1.0 Windows binary and installed into C:/R/rw2010, using the installer. I ran md5check.exe in C:/R/rw2010/bin/ and got "No errors."
The problem is this:
When I start up Rgui.exe from its shortcut (target= C:\R\rw2010\bin\Rgui.exe --save -sdi, Start in

how to get flac fingerprint from a wav?
Great info. I found some descriptions of st5 (md5 fp) and ffp, where
I assume that "fp" is just a Taper abbreviation for "fingerprint" -
or signature as it's called in the flac header. However, I could not
find these utilities or source code. What I found looked like
instructions for a gui-based program. I think it would be easier to
support Mac if st5 were

flac fingerprint
hi,
i found this explanation of the flac fingerprint somewhere:
'A FLAC Fingerprint is generated only for the audio data portion of
the file. (Therefore, changing the filename or the tags or
FlacMetadata does not change the fingerprint calculation.) In
contrast, an .md5 is generated against the whole file, including
header portions.'
so i was wondering what advantages it could give me

overriding "summary.default" or "summary.data.frame". How?
I suppose everybody who makes a package for the first time thinks "I
can change anything!" and then runs into this same question. Has
anybody written out information on how a package can override
functions in R base in the R 2.14 (mandatory NAMESPACE era)?
Suppose I want to alphabetize variables in a summary.data.frame, or
return the standard deviation with the mean in summary output.

trouble with uninstall
Hello,
Today I installed R for Windows version 2.13.1, but realized that it's not something that I need right now. I attempted to uninstall it, but am getting the following error message:
"This Installation can only be uninstalled on 64-bit Windows."
I am running Windows XP Professional, Version 2002, SP 3.
I've also tried the unins000.exe file as suggested in the help, and

flac fingerprint
i forgot to ask this important question :)
why doesn't a ffp file make a md5 of the *whole* flac file, so that
all non-audio data inside the file are verified too?
in my opinion, now it only does the same as the internally stored md5
on the decompressed audio data, but there is still no way to verify
the header of the flac file (so i mean : all non-audio data in the
file)
or am i forgotting

Testing the .flac file against its internally stored fingerprint lets
you know that you have a properly encoded .flac file of *something*. If
you also certify that internally stored fingerprint

DOH! RE: R 2.1.0 for Windows installation error? atanh not in R.dll?
I'm sorry to waste bandwidth. I re-read the console message for the tenth time and finally noticed R was looking in rw2001pat for libraries. Looking at my Env vars I see I set R_LIBS to look there. Changed R_LIBS, fixed problem.
DOH!
So now if I want to use several versions of R simultaneously, what do I do.
I set R_LIBS so it would look also in C:/R/extra for some added packages.
Thanks and
